In some instances, the amount of thiuram compounds added to a rubber product may exceed the acceptable amount of thiuram compounds for producing optimal manufactured product properties. With an overloading of thiuram compound in a rubber product, the rubber product usually possesses poor product quality and manufacturers may also suffer losses due to burnt rubber and over vulcanization.

Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet différents kits et procédés d'analyse pour la détermination ou l'estimation d'une quantité d'un composé thiurame dans un échantillon de latex ou de produit de latex. Dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé de détermination comprend les étapes consistant à mettre en contact un échantillon avec (1) une solution complexante contenant des ions cuivre (II) qui peuvent former des complexes avec les composés thiurame dans l'échantillon ; et (2) une solution de différenciation contenant un composé qui peut extraire un composé cuivre (II) - thiurame. La mise en contact de l'échantillon avec la solution complexante et la solution de différenciation entraîne la formation d'un mélange ayant une première et une seconde couche de densités différentes. Une propriété optique (par exemple la couleur) de la couche de densité inférieure correspond à une quantité de composés thiurame dans l'échantillon ; la quantité de thiurame dans l'échantillon peut donc être déterminée ou estimée. Dans certains modes de réalisation, le protocole d'analyse comprend la préparation d'une série de solutions diluées ayant une concentration connue destinées à être utilisées en tant que solutions de référence.
