Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing synthetic gas by gasification of an ash-containing fuel with oxygen-containing gas at temperatures above the melting temperature of the ash and with a pressure of 0.3 to 8 MPa, wherein the enthalpy accumulated from producing the synthetic gas is used to produce steam, particularly high-pressure steam. This is achieved in that the medium mixture, which is leaving the gasifier outlet and which is inside the pressure container, flows down in the gravitational direction through a region designed as a heat boiler. The medium mixture downstream of the heat boiler region is supplied with a water quench, and the synthetic gas is cooled to an outlet temperature of 200 °C to 400 °C.
