Abstract

La présente invention concerne un implant venant s'intercaler entre deux apophyses épineuses et des méthodes associées. Selon un aspect de l'invention, ledit implant limite l'espacement maximal entre lesdites apophyses épineuses. Selon un autre aspect de l'invention, une cale comporte au moins une ouverture transversale pour faciliter la pénétration des tissus dans l'implant. Selon un autre aspect de l'invention, un implant comporte une cale et des prolongements séparés pouvant être rendus solidaires de ladite cale. La cale se présente sous diverses longueurs pour permettre d'avoir divers espacements entre une surface inférieure et une surface supérieure. Selon un autre aspect de l'invention, un implant comprend une cale et un élément de cerclage, déporté par rapport à la ligne médiane de la cale lors de l'utilisation, si bien que la cale délimite un point de levier et que l'élément de cerclage peut servir à faire bouger les vertèbres autour de la cale. Selon un autre aspect, l'invention concerne des instruments permettant l'introduction de l'implant. Selon d'autres aspects encore, l'invention concerne des méthodes de traitement d'affections de la colonne vertébrale.
