Abstract
La présente invention concerne une pièce moulée indéformable mais pas fragile, en particulier une pièce moulée d'isolation thermique, faite d'un matériau isolant fibreux qui se distingue en ce qu'un minimum d'adjuvant suffit à le rendre indéformable. La structure propre de la matière fibreuse n'est pas modifiée. Des caractéristiques importantes du produit telles que la thermoconductivité ou la résistance aux vibrations ne sont pas altérées. Un traitement approprié permet de ramener quasiment à 0% la proportion déjà extrêmement faible des adjuvants organiques mis en œuvre, sans remise en cause du caractère indéformable. L'invention répond ainsi aux attentes du marché qui exige que les pièces moulées résistant aux températures élevées ne dégagent pas de composants toxiques en cas d'application de température élevée. Elles ne doivent pas non plus dégager de fumée. Les domaines d'application privilégiés de l'invention sont, non seulement l'industrie automobile, par exemple pour les pièces moulées isolantes destinées aux écrans thermiques comme ceux des pots catalytiques, mais aussi toutes les autres applications dans lesquelles une pièce moulée tridimensionnelle indéformable présente des avantages par rapport à une pièce découpée bidimensionnelle, car la pièce indéformable sera plus facile à mettre en place, se prêtera mieux à l'individualisation, et, d'une façon générale, permettra des gains de temps.
