Abstract

본 발명은 매체인식장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 이송중인 매체(m)의 일면에 연속하여 광원을 조사하는 하나의 UV 광원(12)이 구비된다. 상기 UV광원(12)에서 자외선이 조사되면 상기 매체(m)의 일면과 다른면으로부터 반사이미지 및 투과이미지를 연속하여 추출하도록 상기 매체(m)의 상방과 하방에 CIS 센서(14)(24)가 위치한다. 상기 CIS센서(14)(24)는 이송중인 매체(m)로부터 반사이미지 및 투과이미지를 계속하여 추출하기 때문에, 상기 CIS센서(14)(24)로부터 추출된 반사이미지 및 투과이미지에 대하여 하나의 완성된 반사이미지 및 투과이미지를 생성하는 이미지 생성부(18)(28)가 상기 CIS센서(14)(24)에 대응되어 구비된다. 그리고 상기 이미지 생성부(18)(28)에 의해 생성된 반사이미지 및 투과이미지를 비교대상인 각각의 기준이미지와 비교하여 상기 매체의 진위 여부를 판별하는 제어부(40)가 구비된다. 이와 같은 본 발명에 따르면, 하나의 광원만을 이용하여 매체의 진위를 판별할 수 있어 매체인식장치의 구조를 더욱 간소화할 수 있고 매체인식장치의 생산 비용이 절감되는 이점이 있다.
