Abstract

La presente invención se refiere al uso de un inhibidor de la enzima convertidora de la angiotensina I (IECA), el captopril, para combatir el proceso inflamatorio cardiaco que acompaña a la hipertensión arterial basado en la disminución de los niveles de citoquinas proinflamatorias. Del mismo modo, esta invención también está referida a composiciones farmaceúticas para el tratamiento de la citada alteración, que comprendan una cantidad terapeúticamente efectiva de captopril.
