- the invention relates to a novel method of maneuvering a landing gear with a breaking strut. Maneuvering means the movement of the undercarriage between its deployed position and its retracted position, or vice versa.
- Landers are known to be pivotally mounted on an aircraft structure between a retracted position and an extended position, the undercarriage being stabilized in the deployed position by a bracing member comprising at least one two-sided brace. connecting rods which, when the undercarriage is in the extended position, are kept substantially aligned with each other by a stabilizing member with two rods hinged together which are also maintained substantially aligned with one another by a locking member.
- the strut is coupled on the one hand to the caisson of the undercarriage and on the other hand to the structure of the aircraft, while the stabilizing member is coupled on the one hand to the strut and on the other hand to the caisson , or the structure of the aircraft.
- the unlocking actuator is actuated first, which acts against the locking member to force the two rods of the stabilizing member to be misaligned. which therefore forces the two connecting rods of the strut to be misaligned.
- they can no longer oppose the lifting of the undercarriage caused by the action of the lifting actuator.
- the lifting of such a landing gear requires two actuators.

- BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In order to achieve this goal, a method is proposed for maneuvering between a deployed position and a retracted position an aircraft landing gear comprising an articulated leg on the aircraft, the leg being stabilized in the deployed position by a breaker strut with two articulated connecting rods, the strut being held in aligned position by a stabilizing member with two articulated links held in alignment by a locking member.
- the method comprises the steps of arranging the strut and the stabilizing member so that at least one of the rods of the stabilizing member has a continuous movement during a movement of the leg between the deployed position and the retracted position, and to couple a maneuvering actuator to this rod to rotate the link against the locking member and exert on it a force tending to move the leg.
- the maneuvering actuator ensures both the misalignment of the rods of the stabilization member to
- the fact that the movement of the actuated link is continuous makes it possible to lift the undercarriage by means of a continuous action in the same direction of the actuator.
- the actuator can be indifferently of linear or rotary type, as long as it is compatible with the amplitude of the movement of the actuated link.

- the breaker strut 2 comprises two rods 2a, 2b hinged together at a knee 3.
- the rod 2a is also articulated on the aircraft, while the rod 2b is articulated on the leg 1.
- the strut breaker 2 is stabilized in substantially aligned position by means of a stabilizing member 4 having two rods 4a, 4b, also hinged together.
- the rod 4a is articulated on the leg 1, and the link 4b is articulated on the strut 2.
- the rods 4a, 4b are held in substantially aligned position by a locking member 5 comprising return springs 6 recalling the links 4a, 4b to the locking position defined by stops 7a, 7b.
- the breaker strut 2 opposes any rotation of the leg 1 about its hinge axis X, so that the deployed position is a stable position.
- the connecting rods 2a, 2b and links 4a, 4b are designed so that to arrive at the locked position illustrated here, the connecting rods knee and the linkage knee of the rods pass slightly beyond beyond the geometric alignment illustrated by the broken lines.

- the movement of the rod 4a which is continuous and without singularity in the lifting direction, is therefore continuous and without singularity in the direction of descent, so that the actuator maneuver is always driven in the same direction during the descent of the undercarriage and therefore operates as a generator, and can therefore be used as a brake during the descent.
- the maneuvering actuator is reversible and can be driven by the rod 4a during the descent of one undercarriage.
- the actuator 110 is always rotatable, but is placed directly at the axis of rotation the rod 104a to drive it directly in rotation.
- the link 104a is now articulated not on the leg, but directly on the structure of the aircraft.
- the locking spring 106 is also coupled to the structure of the aircraft, the locking position of the links 104a, 104b is now defined by a stop 107 disposed on the structure of the aircraft to stop the rod 104a in the position illustrated here, in which it is substantially aligned with the rod 104b.
- the actuator will be chosen of the simplest and most reliable type possible. If this is possible, we will favor a torque motor type actuator, direct drive without reduction. - the stop or stops defining the substantially aligned position of the rods of the stabilization member may be placed either between the rods as in the example of Figure 1, or on the aircraft structure to cooperate with the rod actuated, as in the example of Figure 2; but it can also cooperate with a movable part of one actuator to stop it in a defined position, this position being confirmed by a spring member. It is important, of course, that the actuator be able to maneuver the associated rod against this spring member.
- the maneuvering actuator may be linear type being coupled to one of the rods of the stabilizing member, if the stroke and the lever arms of such an actuator are compatible with the lift of the undercarriage.
- the actuator may be of the electric or hydraulic type.
- the actuator is attached to the structure of the aircraft, it will be possible, still within the scope of the invention, to couple the actuator directly to one of the elements of the aircraft. landing gear, as long as the actuator remains attached to one of the rods of the stabilization member.
