It has previously been proposed to provide connectors for this purpose and these typically comprise a circular flange from which a hollow boss projects. The flange is mounted to the end of one of the duct/fan/silencer units usually by bolts or rivets.
  • One end of a duct usually comprising a flexible sleeve duct, is slid over the boss and extends to another duct/fan/silencer comprising part of the assembly. In some cases the flexible sleeve duct may be replaced with a rigid duct as required.

  • a modification of the connector of Figure 4 comprises a lower mounting plate 21 formed with a further portion 21A that is bent at 90° to the remainder of the plate 21 so as to be parallel to the plane of the flange 3.
  • the upper mount 29 comprises a similar upper mounting plate 31 and 90° bent further portion 3 IA.
  • the portions 21A, 31A comprise part of anti-vibration mounts 33, 35 that each comprise 'U' shaped channels 36 and intermediate anti-vibration elements 37.
  • a connector substantially as described above with reference to Figure 1 incorporates a modified flange 3 which is formed with a circumferential slot 39 in which a circumferential o-ring type seal 41 is located.
  • This seal in use forms a fluid tight seal between the flange 3 and the other part of the ventilation assembly to which the flange is mounted.
  • Such a slot 39 and seal 41 could be used on any of the other embodiments described above with reference to Figures 1 to 5. It will be appreciated that the connectors described above could be used as part of any ventilation assembly as required, and as may be provided on a domestic or commercial building, or a ship for example.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un connecteur pour ensemble ventilation (1) de bâtiment et une conduite flexible s'utilisant avec un ensemble ventilation de bâtiment comportant une voie d'air. Le connecteur (1) comprend une bride de fixation (3) dont la face arrière est conçue pour être montée sur une partie de l'ensemble ventilation, et la face avant est pourvue d'un élément saillant (7) dépendant de la bride de fixation (3), et à travers lequel un trou (8) formé sert, lors de l'utilisation, à des fins d'alignement sur la voie d'air. L'élément saillant (7) comprend une formation de verrouillage (17) conçue pour entrer en contact avec une conduite formant une autre partie de l'ensemble ventilation afin de verrouiller la conduite sur l'élément saillant (7). La formation de verrouillage comprend une rainure (17) formée sur la surface extérieure de l'élément saillant (7), la conduite souple comprenant un dispositif de serrage sous la forme d'une bande de serrage formée d'une seule pièce avec une extrémité de la conduite souple, la largeur du dispositif de serrage étant telle que le dispositif de serrage s'insère dans la rainure de verrouillage formée sur l'élément saillant (7) du connecteur (1) afin de verrouiller la conduite souple sur l'élément saillant (7). La face arrière de la bride de fixation (3) comporte une fente circonférentielle (39) et un joint circonférentiel (41) se situant dans la fente (39); lors de l'utilisation, le joint (41) forme un joint étanche aux fluides entre la bride (3) et une autre partie de l'ensemble ventilation, sur laquelle la bride (3) est montée.
