Abstract

본 발명은 액정 디스플레이(Liquid Crystal Display: LCD) 장치의 백라이트 유닛에 관한 것으로, 측면 광원으로부터 입사된 빛을 도광판 하면에 형성된 광학패턴에 따라 좌우 또는 상하 시야각 분포를 집광시키며 상면으로 출사 가능한 도광판에 있어서, 다수의 광학패턴이 적어도 일면에 형성된 패턴부층이 구비되며, 상기 패턴부층의 광학패턴 내에는 다수의 광확산 입자가 분산되며 상기 패턴부층의 모재와 상기 광확산 입자의 굴절율이 다른 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명은 광원과 입광부에서 발생하는 핫스팟(Hot-spot) 및 휘선을 억제하고, 휘도 및 휘도 균일성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 도광판의 특성상 광학패턴 방향에 따라 좌우 및 상하 방면의 시야각 분포를 중심으로 집광시킬 수 있는 기능을 가지기 때문에 도광판 상면에 빛의 중심 출사를 위해 사용되는 광학시트의 수를 줄일 수 있어 백라이트 유닛을 제작하는데 소모되는 시간 및 비용을 감소시킬 수 있으므로 광특성 향상 및 제조비용을 절감할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
