Definitions
- the new rebound device for prostheses of lower limb amputees is designed to be applied in the prosthetic industry, as a complement to prostheses to improve physical and health conditions through exercise for leg amputated people.
- the field of the invention there are sports boots for exercising for healthy people who have both legs, according to the technical description of US Pat. No. 449237 Issued on January 8, 1985 in favor of Lekhtman Et Al. Where are described some exercise boots to receive the two feet of healthy people, and with the characteristic of counting in the sole of the boots an oval that is compressed to the to receive the impact due to the weight of the people, causing a rebound action.
- FIG. 2 With reference to said figure, the different parts that make up the rebound device for prostheses of amputee of lower limbs are shown, and how the rebound device is coupled to a cone for prosthetic stump for leg amputation.
- the rebound device for lower limb amputee prostheses consists of a tube holder (1) for prostheses with quick-release coupling and tool-free system by means of a lever (2) with a round end (3) with shaft eccentric that allows tightening or loosening a threaded pivot (4) that adapts in the lateral part (5) of a tube holder (1), with this function the person amputated only requires a cone for stump (21) to be used with prosthetic foot in normal footwear for walking and at the same time having the possibility of changing the prosthetic foot for the rebound device for when it requires physical, recreational or sports activities.
- the tube holder (1) with quick release coupling is attached to a tube (6) of aluminum, titanium or composites, and this in turn joins a receiver system for female or male pyramids (7) used in the prosthetic industry , this receiver is attached by means of four screws (8) to an assembly piece (9) made of high strength plastic material or composites, which contains four nuts (10) to fix the receiving part (7) of female pyramids or male, the assembly piece (9) in addition to the four nuts (10) that are located in its central lower part, contains two other nuts (11) located in its upper part, which allow this assembly piece (9) to be joined to The upper curved part (12) of plastic that forms the damping oval, by means of two screws (22) the assembly piece (9) is flat in the upper part to screw the female or male receiver (7) in a way firm and secure, and the lower part (14) has a concave shape, even to adapt exactly to the upper curved part (12) of the oval.
- the compression oval is formed by two curved pieces (12 and 13) of plastic material or High strength and elastic composites, these curved pieces are assembled with each other by means of a band (17) of elastic rubber that has grooves on both ends (15) to fit exactly the tips (16) of the curved pieces ( 12 and 13) and resulting from this assembly an oval that allows to absorb the shock forces and at the same time provide a rebound of energy in the form of a rebound by means of an elastic rubber band (17) consisting of two lateral strips (23) elastic and a spiral steel spring (18) to the center of the elastic rubber band (17) to increase the resistance to compression and to increase the rebound effect.
- the spiral steel spring (18) is made of steel wire with its two ends (19) in the form of a hook so that each end enters two holes (24) located at the ends of the elastic rubber band (17) .
- the lower curved part (13) has a rubber non-skid sole (20) in the contact area with the floor, and this sole (20) is attached to the lower curved part (13) by means of two leagues (25 ) elastic, the non-skid sole (20) has the function of preventing people from slipping when stepping on the rebound device for prostheses
- any expert in the prosthetic technique can make modifications to adapt the rebound device to prostheses of amputees.
