FIG. 1 shows a schematic cross-sectional view through a substantial region of a (steam) iron 2 according to the invention with a soleplate 4 according to the invention according to a first embodiment. The disc-shaped portion 10b of the fastener 10 has a hook-shaped end 10b1, which is adapted to engage in the groove 12.
