Abstract

 小型化が図られると共に光の利用効率が改善された発光装置を実現する。 本発明では、トリガ電極として、放電管(1)のガラスバルブ(2)の外周面上に反射性の導電性材料膜(5)を形成する。反射性トリガ電極膜(5)は、ガラスバルブのほぼ全周を覆うように形成する。反射性トリガ電極膜は細条状の光放出開口(6)を有し、光放出開口を介して照明光を外部に放出する。発光作用により発生した照明光は、光放出開口を介して直接外部に放出されると共に、反射性トリガ電極膜を介して多重反射して外部に放出される。反射性トリガ電極膜による多重反射作用及び細条状の光放出開口の発散光抑制効果により光利用効率の高い発光装置が実現される。
