Abstract

본 발명은 수소화 촉매를 이용하여 카르복시산, 알코올 및 수소를 반응시켜 알코올을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 에스테르화 공정 및 수소화 분해 공정의 2 단계 연속 방법을 거치지 않고 수소화 촉매를 이용하여 에스테르화 및 수소화 분해를 단일 공정(one-step process)에 의해 진행시켜 알코올을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 카르복시산으로부터 수소화 촉매를 이용하여 에스테르 반응 및 수소화 반응을 단일공정에서 진행시켜 알코올을 제조할 수 있으므로, 2 단계 공정에 비해 생산비용이나, 부산물 처리비용을 절감할 수 있고, 단순화된 방법으로도 상대적으로 높은 수율의 알코올을 생산할 수 있어, 효율적이고 경제적이다. 또한 카르복시산으로부터 에스테르반응 없이 직접 수소화(환원)하여 알코올로 제조하는 공정보다 상대적으로 낮은 압력에서 높은 수율을 얻을 수 있으며, 촉매의 leaching 문제를 해결할 수 있다.
