Abstract

The present invention relates to food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutical compositions having an antioxidant activity, containing an Ishige okamurae-derived compound as an active ingredient. As the Ishige okamurae-derived phlorotannin compound according to the present invention exhibits excellent radical scavenging activity and antioxidant activity in a cell system, marine source-derived phlorotannin can be used as functional food, dietary supplements, or a drug for preventing or treating ROS-related diseases.
