Abstract

La présente invention concerne un test de présence/absence de Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) qui implique de placer un échantillon de test de première génération dans une solution qui coagulera en présence de S. aureus. La solution contient des composants qui développeront sélectivement S. aureus et contient également des facteurs de coagulation qui réagiront avec S. aureus, si S. aureus est présent dans l’échantillon, pour faire coaguler la solution. Des exemples d’échantillons de test qui peuvent être testés comprennent des prélèvements nasaux et des prélèvements de lésions, entre autres. Le test peut également être modifié pour détecter la présence ou l’absence de S. aureus résistant à la méthicilline (MRSA).
