- the present invention relates to a method of improving growth of paddy rice. More specifically, it relates to method of improving growth of paddy rice in reduced soil, by treatment with specific chemicals.
- Reduced soil means that when a great amount of undecomposed organic matters is present in soils of rice paddy fields, decomposition by microorganisms proceeds under insufficient supply of oxygen, and as a result of oxygen depletion the soils become to be in a reduced state.
- the present invention is to provide a method of improving growth of paddy rice in reduced soil by applying neonicotinoides or arylpyrazoles to the rice field.

- Starch was added to dried soils obtained from rice paddy field while adding water (3 ml of starch per 1 liter of dried soils). After keeping the resulting soils for ten days at room temperature, an oxidation-reduction potential was measured. As a result, a strong reduction state was confirmed. In order to have it turned into a mild reduction state, the above-described soils were further added for modification.
