Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser pump and a fluid dispenser comprising such a pump.
- Fluid dispensing pumps are well known in the state of the art, in particular for dispensing products in the fields of cosmetics, perfumery or pharmacy. They generally comprise a pump body in which a piston slides to dispense a dose of fluid product with each actuation.
- the pumps sometimes include shutters provided at the dispensing orifice. These shutters are intended in particular to prevent contamination of the fluid between two actuations of the pump, and are therefore biased to rest towards their closed position.
- shutters can arise with shutters.
- the seal is generally performed at the end of the return stroke, with a time interval between the end of the distribution of the fluid dose and the effective closure of the dispensing orifice may allow contamination.
- the seal is generally lost from the very beginning of the actuating stroke, while the distribution of the product often occurs only at the end of the actuating stroke. Again, this time interval may be sufficient for contamination.
- the shutter in the closed position, to seal, the shutter is biased by a spring, and it therefore exerts a force on the part of the head with which it cooperates, usually the peripheral edge of the dispensing orifice. .
- the dimensions of the walls are very small, and the thrust exerted by the shutter can eventually cause deformation of the head, with the risk of loss of pressure. sealing and therefore the risk of contamination.
- the documents FR-2 815 611, FR-2 862 009 and US-6 609 666 disclose shutters cooperating in the closed position with the dispensing head in two distinct sealing zones.
- the present invention aims to provide a fluid dispensing pump that does not reproduce the aforementioned drawbacks.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a fluid dispensing pump which guarantees the dispensing of the product in finely pulverized form each time the pump is actuated.
- the subject of the present invention is therefore a fluid product dispensing pump, comprising a pump body, at least a first piston sliding in a sealed manner in said pump body to expel a dose of fluid product at each actuation through an orifice of distribution provided in a dispensing head, a shutter movable between a closed position and an open position being disposed in said dispensing head upstream of said dispensing orifice, said shutter being biased towards its closed position by an elastic element, such as a spring, said shutter in closed position cooperating sealingly with said dispensing head in at least three distinct sealing zones.
- a first sealing zone is formed by a central projection of the shutter cooperating with a peripheral edge of the dispensing head defining the dispensing orifice.
- a second sealing zone is formed by a frustoconical lateral peripheral edge of the shutter cooperating with a corresponding frustoconical wall portion provided in said dispensing head.
- a third sealing zone is formed by an axial lateral edge of the shutter cooperating with a corresponding axial wall portion provided in said dispensing head.
- the dispensing head comprises a radial shoulder extending axially by said axial wall portion, disposed downstream of said shoulder in the direction of flow of the fluid, the diameter of said axial wall portion being substantially identical to the diameter of said lateral edge.
- axial shutter so that during opening, said shutter slides sealingly against said axial wall portion up to said shoulder, and during closure, said shutter slides sealingly against said axial wall portion; from said shoulder.
- said axial wall portion disposed downstream of said shoulder has a length of at least 0.1 mm, preferably 0.6 mm.
- the force exerted by the elastic element on the shutter in the closed position is transmitted to said dispensing head in three distinct force components.
- a metering chamber is made directly upstream of said dispensing orifice, said shutter forming the outlet valve of said metering chamber.
- said shutter is made in one piece with said pump body.
- said first piston is made of a one-piece piece with a fixing ring adapted to fix the pump on a reservoir.
- the pump comprises only one elastic element disposed out of contact with the fluid product.
- the present invention also relates to a fluid dispenser device comprising a reservoir and a pump as described above attached to said reservoir.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a fluid dispenser device comprising a fluid dispenser pump according to an advantageous embodiment of the present invention, in the rest position of the pump;
- FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of the framed detail in FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the framed detail in FIG. 2;
- FIGS. 4a to 4c are schematic views showing an opening phase; respectively in the closed, intermediate and open position; and
- FIGS. 5a to 5c are schematic views showing a closing phase, respectively in the open position, intermediate and closing.
- the fluid dispenser device comprises a reservoir 60 (shown schematically in dotted lines) and a pump mounted on said reservoir by means of a fixing ring 15, preferably with the interposition of a seal 65
- the pump comprises a pump body 10 defining a metering chamber 20 containing the product to be dispensed at each actuation of the pump, and in which slides a first piston 72.
- a dispensing head 40 is mounted on the fixing ring 15, and the metering chamber 20 is advantageously formed in said head.
- the metering chamber further comprises an inlet valve 70, and a shutter 38 is provided upstream of the dispensing orifice 45 and cooperating directly therewith between a closed position and an open or dispensed position. .
- the metering chamber 20 being disposed directly upstream of the dispensing orifice 45, said shutter 38 forms the outlet valve of said metering chamber 20.
- the pump body 10 is advantageously made in one piece with said shutter 38, and the first piston 72 can advantageously be made in one piece with the fixing ring 15 and the seat 71 of the valve 70.
- a spring 50 preferably single and preferably out of contact with the fluid, is arranged in the pump to return the first piston 72 to its rest position and the shutter 38 to its position. shutter after each actuation of the pump.
- a dip tube 18 may be connected to said pump to extend towards the bottom of the tank to distribute all of the product contained therein.
- a spraying profile 100 may be provided at the dispensing orifice 45 for spraying the expelled product with each actuation of the pump.
- Figures 2 and 3 show enlarged views of an advantageous embodiment of the invention.
- the end of the spray head 40 which incorporates the spray orifice 45 is narrowed and forms a sleeve 150 in which the shutter 38 slides axially.
- This shutter 38 may advantageously be made in one piece with a second piston 34 which can slide sealingly into said dispensing head 40, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the sleeve 150 is preferably integrally formed in the bottom of the spray head 40 and can incorporate the spray profile 100.
- This spray profile 100 may comprise a swirl chamber, which may be arranged directly upstream of the spray orifice 45 and which is connected thereto in the dispensing position.
- the spray profile 100 may also comprise at least one non-radial channel, preferably two symmetrically disposed relative to one another about the central axis X of the pump. Of course, any number of non-radial channels may be conceivable. These non-radial channels can be connected to the swirl chamber when the product is expelled. This spraying profile guarantees a good spraying of the product during its distribution.
- the shutter 38 in the closed position, said shutter 38 cooperates sealingly with the inside of the dispensing head 40, in at least three distinct sealing zones 381, 382 and 383.
- the first sealing zone is preferably formed by an axial central projection 381 of the shutter 38 which cooperates in the closed position with a radial peripheral edge 401 of the dispensing head 40 which defines the dispensing orifice 45.
- a second sealing zone is preferably formed by a frustoconical lateral peripheral edge 382 of the shutter 38 which cooperates in the closed position with a corresponding frustoconical wall portion 402 provided inside the dispensing head 40.
- a third sealing zone is preferably formed by an axial lateral edge 383 of the shutter 38 which cooperates with a corresponding axial wall portion 403 p
- This axial side edge 383 of the shutter 38 preferably extends directly to said frustoconical lateral peripheral edge 382 which forms the second sealing zone.
- the axial wall portion 403 of the dispensing head 40 also extends the frustoconical wall portion 402 accordingly.
- the dispensing head 40 has a radial shoulder 43 which defines downstream of said shoulder in the direction of fluid flow said axial wall portion 403 which has a diameter reduced and upstream of said shoulder 43 a wall portion of greater diameter.
- the diameter of this axial wall portion 403 is approximately identical to the diameter of said axial lateral edge 383 of the shutter 38.
- the inside diameter of the wall portion axial 403 of the head can not be greater than the outer diameter of said axial lateral edge 383 of the shutter, otherwise the seal could not be achieved at this level.
- the diameter of the axial wall portion 403 can not be much smaller than that of the axial side edge 383 of the shutter, since otherwise the shutter would not be able to slide within this axial wall portion. Nevertheless, since the shutter 38 is biased towards its closed position by an elastic element, such as the spring 50, it is not absolutely necessary for the diameters to be perfectly identical.
- the length of the axial wall portion 403 disposed downstream of said shoulder is at least 0.1 mm, preferably 0.6 mm.
- An additional advantage of the shutter of the invention is that the force exerted by the shutter 38 on the dispensing head 40 in the closed position is not exclusively transmitted on the peripheral edge 401 defining the dispensing orifice 45, as is the case with the majority of shutters. Indeed, in particular for a nasal dispensing head, and in particular for this type of nasal spray head for pediatric use, the dimensions of the head are very small, so that the thickness of the radial end wall which defines the dispensing orifice 45 is very small.
- the spring 50 must be powerful enough to return the pump to the rest position and the shutter in the closed position after each actuation. It therefore exerts a significant force, which also ensures sealing in the closed position.
- This force can, especially in case of prolonged storage, deform the walls of the dispensing head 40, with a risk of loss of tightness at this level and therefore a risk of contamination.
- this force exerted by the spring 50 on the shutter 38 is transmitted to the dispensing head 40 in three components of distinct forces F1, F2, F3, as illustrated in FIG. there is of course always the F1 component exerted by the central projection 381 of the shutter 38 on the radial peripheral edge 401 which defines the dispensing orifice 45.
- This component F1 is, however, significantly less than the total force exerted by the spring 50 , since part of this total force is transmitted by the frustoconical lateral peripheral edge 382 of the shutter 38 to the corresponding frustoconical wall portion 402 of the head according to the component F2, and that another part is transmitted radially according to the F3 component at the third sealing zone 383.
- the risk of deformation of the wall defining the dispensing orifice 45 are eliminated or at least strongly r reactants.
- the three sealing zones described above with reference to the drawings could be made differently from those shown, for example by using deformable lips or any other known means for sealing.
