Abstract

Es wird eine Vorrichtung zum Zubereiten von Nahrungsmitteln angegeben, welche ein Gehäuse (3) aufweist, ein nach oben hin abstrahlendes Heizelement (7) sowie ein erstes Auflageelement (6) für ein Nahrungsmittel, welches sich gut zum Rösten eignet, wie zum Beispiel Brot. Das erste Auflageelement (6) ist über dem Heizelement auf das Gehäuse auflegbar. Bei der Vorrichtung kann es sich z.B. um einen Flachbetttoaster handeln. Die Vorrichtung weist ausserdem ein zweites Auflageelement (9), z.B. eine Wärmeplatte, auf, welche auf das Gehäuse und/oder das erste Auflageelement auflegbar ist. Die Vorrichtung nimmt einen ersten Betriebszustand ein, um ein auf dem ersten Auflageelement aufliegendes Nahrungsmittel zuzubereiten. Wenn das zweite Auflageelement aufgelegt ist, nimmt die Vorrichtung einen zweiten Betriebszustand reduzierter Wärmeleistung ein, um ein auf dem zweiten Auflageelement aufliegendes Nahrungsmittel warm zu halten. Die Erkennung des zweiten Auflageelements erfolgt vorzugsweise selbsttätig, z.B. mittels eines Schalters (8), der durch das zweite Auflageelement betätigbar ist.
