Abstract

본 발명은 다수의 전지셀 또는 단위모듈들이 직렬로 연결되어 모듈 케이스에 내장되어 있는 구조의 전지모듈 다수 개가, 전기적으로 상호 연결된 상태에서, 측면방향으로 상호 접하도록 배열되어 있는 구조의 전지모듈 어셈블리; 상기 전지모듈 어셈블리에서 최외측 전지모듈들의 측면을 감싸고 있는 한 쌍의 측면 지지부재들; 및 상기 전지모듈 어셈블리의 상단방향에서 상기 측면 지지부재들을 연결하고 있는 적어도 하나의 상단 연결부재; 를 포함하고 있으며, 상기 한 쌍의 측면 지지부재들 중 적어도 하나에는, 스웰링 발생시 전지모듈의 국부적인 변형을 유도하여 단전을 이룰 수 있도록, 부피 팽창에 대해 취약한 부위(취약부)가 부분적으로 형성되어 있는 중대형 전지팩을 제공한다.
