Abstract

チューブ内の充填液体食品の圧力を陽圧に維持し、成形用フラップによる予備成形を容易にし、液体食品圧力の変動にって液体食品圧力が万が一に陰圧へ下降しても、チューブへ外部雰囲気物質が侵入することを防止することができる包装充填装置を提供する。 【解決手段】包装充填装置は、チューブ状包装材料内の液面下であって充填パイプ外周上に設けられたプレシャーフランジ36を有し、プレシャーフランジ36が、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品が下方から上方に自由に流動することを抑制して、プレシャーフランジ下方のチューブ内の液体食品の圧力を陽圧にし、成形用フラップによる予備成形を容易にし、 縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を塞ぐ被覆手段20を有する。

Description

包装充填装置
本発明は、流動性食品などが充填されたチューブ包装材料を容器毎に横シールして切断して容器とする包装充填装置に関する。
牛乳、ミネラルウォーター、茶、ジュース、スープ、アルコール類等の流動食品を収容する包装容器を製造する場合、ウェブ状(帯状)の包装積層材料が使用され、該包装積層材料がヒートシール、超音波シール等によってシールされることにより、包装容器が形成される。例えば、包装充填装置において、帯状包装積層材料の縁部にストリップを前もって接合し、包装積層材料をチューブ状に成形し、チューブの内側から、包装積層材料の重ね合わされた両縁部同士を、縦シール部の内側端面を保護するストリップと共に押し当てて縦シール装置によって長手方向(縦方向)にシールした後、チューブ状の包装積層材料の中に液体食品を充填しながら、横シール装置によって横方向にシールして切断し、枕状の原型容器を形成し、該原型容器を更に所定の形状に成形して包装容器を完成させる。
図7は、包装充填装置の一例を示す概略斜視図である。ウェブ状の包装積層材料1は、リールの状態で包装充填装置に装填される。包装積層材料1は、紙基材、及び該紙基材の両面にポリエチレン樹脂が積層された可撓性の積層体から成り、必要に応じて紙基材とフィルムとの間にアルミニウム箔、ガスバリヤ性樹脂等から成るバリヤ層が形成され、包装容器14の表面に相当する部分にあらかじめ外装用の印刷が施される。
繰り出された包装積層材料1は、搬送手段の送り装置によって連続的に搬送され、ベンディングローラ、ダンパローラ等を経て、ストリップ貼着装置3に送られ、ストリップ貼着装置によって包装積層材料1の一方の縁部に沿ってストリップ2が貼着される。
包装積層材料1は、必要に応じて、プルタブ貼着装置によってプルタブが貼着されてる。包装積層材料1は、殺菌槽4に送られ、殺菌槽4において過酸化水素等の殺菌液によって殺菌される。包装積層材料1は、エアナイフ5に送られ、エアナイフ5によって乾燥させられた後、チューブ状包装材料内に液体食品を無菌雰囲気で充填することを保証する無菌室40の室内に送られる。包装積層材料1は、成形リング6、その他の成形リングによって徐々に変形させられてチューブ状の形状にされる。
チューブ状包装積層材料1は、縦シール装置の予熱手段8からのホットエアーによって予熱されて、縦方向にシールされ、充填パイプ7の下端から流動性食品がチューブ状包装積層材料1内に充填される。
図8に、チューブ状包装材料内に充填パイプから液体食品を所定の液面レベルまで充填する形態の一例を示す。
充填パイプ7の垂直部分は、チューブ状包装材料1の内部に下方に挿入されている。上流側の部分は、制御弁32に接続されている。充填パイプ7の垂直部分の外周囲には、円筒状のフロート34が配置されている。その液体に浮かんだフロート34は、チューブ包装材料1と充填パイプ7の間にあって、充填パイプ7の垂直部分の外面に、上下方向に移動自在に嵌められている。フロート11には、被検出手段35(マグネット、発信器または、タグなど)が取付けられている。チューブ1の外部に検出器31が配されている。検出器31は、被検出手段との間の信号の強弱の変化を電流に変えて電気信号として出力する。所定レベル若しくはそれ以上では停止信号を、所定レベル以下であると開放信号をそれぞれ制御装置33に出力する。一方、充填パイプ7の上流側部分には、電磁式流量制御弁32が設けられており、電磁式流量制御弁32は、制御装置33により制御される。
液体の液面レベルが所定レベルに調整される。(参考特許文献1)
図7に示すように、チューブ状包装積層材料1は、下方に案内され、横シール装置10に送られ、挟まれて横方向にシールされると共に、容器形状に成形され、横シールされた包装積層材料は、ナイフなどで切断されて枕状の原型容器13が形成される。
図9に横シール装置10の詳細一部断面図を示す。この態様では、食品が充填されたチューブ状包装材料1が、先ず、上側一対のシールジョー10a及び対向ジョー11により挟持される。包装容器1個分に相当する長さ分だけ下方に送られながら、上側一対の成形フラップ41,41により挟まれておおよその容器形状に成形される。横断方向に横シールして2本の横シール帯域を形成し、繋がった枕状予備成形体のシール帯域の中間をナイフ42により切断して個々の枕状予備成形体13に切り離す。
この態様では、高速に、横シール、予備成形及び切断を行うために、二対のシールジョー及び対向ジョー、並びに、成形フラップを備え、横シール、予備成形及び切断ステップを終えた一対は、横に退避し上方に戻り、次の横シール、予備成形及び切断ステップを繰返す。
図7に示すように、原型容器13は、最終成形搬送装置15によって搬送されて最終の形状に成形され、流動性食品を収容する包装容器14が完成する。

上述の包装充填において、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力は、液面からの液体の深さに相当して陽圧である。包装材料を成形フラップで成形する際に、チューブ内の液体食品の圧力が陽圧であることによって、成形フラップの外圧と相俟って、包装材料を良好に成形することができる。
また、このような陽圧に維持されていることが、中身食品の衛生状態を維持する。すなわち、万が一に包装材料に僅かな傷、割れ目若しくはピンホールがあっても、この箇所から液体食品が外に出るだけであり、外部雰囲気物質の何らかが侵入しチューブ内の液体食品を汚染することがない。
 本発明は、チューブ内の充填液体食品の圧力を陽圧に維持し、成形用フラップによる予備成形を容易にし、液体食品圧力の変動にって液体食品圧力が万が一に陰圧へ下降しても、チューブへ外部雰囲気物質が侵入することを防止することができる包装充填装置を提供することを目的とする。
本発明の包装充填装置は、ウェブ状包装材料をチューブ状に成形し、包装材料の両端部で重ね合わされたチューブの縦線方向に縦シールし、垂直に下方に連続的に搬送されるチューブ状包装材料内に充填パイプから液体食品を、充填パイプ出口上方の所定位置の液面レベルまで充填し、液面下でチューブ横断方向にシールジョー及びカウンタージョーでチューブを挟んで引き下ろす間に横シールし、チューブを同時に成形用フラップで挟んで予備成形し、横シール帯域で切断して包装容器を製造する包装充填装置であって、
チューブ状包装材料内の液面下であって充填パイプ外周上に設けられた、プレシャーフランジを有し、プレシャーフランジが、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品が下方から上方に自由に流動することを抑制して、プレシャーフランジ下方のチューブ内の液体食品の圧力を陽圧にし、成形用フラップによる予備成形を容易にし、
シールジョー及びカウンタージョー並びに成形用フラップの上方であり、液体食品圧力の変動によって液体食品圧力が下降する箇所の上流側で、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を塞ぐ被覆手段を有し、被覆手段が、液体食品圧力の変動による液体食品圧力の陰圧への下降によって、チューブへの外部雰囲気物質の侵入を防止する、
 ことを特徴とする。
この発明の好ましい態様において、被覆手段が、フイルムを貼着して塞ぐフィルム貼着手段である。
この発明の好ましい態様において、接着剤を塗布して塞ぐ接着剤塗布手段である。
この発明の好ましい態様において、被覆手段が、チューブ状包装材料内に液体食品を無菌雰囲気で充填することを保証する無菌室の外側に設置される。
この発明による包装充填装置は、ウェブ状包装材料をチューブ状に成形し、包装材料の両端部で重ね合わされたチューブの縦線方向に縦シールし、垂直に下方に連続的に搬送されるチューブ状包装材料内に充填パイプから液体食品を、充填パイプ出口上方の所定位置の液面レベルまで充填し、液面下でチューブ横断方向にシールジョー及びカウンタージョーでチューブを挟んで引き下ろす間に横シールし、チューブを同時に成形用フラップで挟んで予備成形し、横シール帯域で切断して包装容器を製造する。
液体食品が充填されたウェブ状包装材料の液面下で、横シールするので、容器内に不要な空気等が残らず、品質保持に寄与する。
上述の包装充填において、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力は、液面からの液体の深さに相当して陽圧である。包装材料を成形フラップで成形する際に、陽圧であることによって良好に成形することができる。
この発明の特徴に於いて、チューブ状包装材料内の液面下であって充填パイプ外周上に設けられたプレシャーフランジを有する。
チューブ状包装材料が下方に送られながら、シールジョー及び対向ジョーにより急速に挟持され、また、一対の成形フラップにより急速に挟まれる際に、チューブ状包装材料の中身の液体が押出され、チューブ内の液体食品の圧力が急激に上昇して過剰な陽圧となる。この過剰な陽圧は、液面レベルを急激に上昇させ、不安定に揺れさせて、液面レベル制御を困難にする恐れがある。
すなわち、この過剰な陽圧は、液面レベルを急激に上昇させ、不安定に揺れさせて、図8に示すようなフロート11が大きく上下させるおそがあり、その結果、制御装置33による制御を困難にする恐れがある。
この発明において、プレシャーフランジが、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品が下方から上方に自由に流動することを抑制して、プレシャーフランジ下方のチューブ内の液体食品の圧力を十分に陽圧にし、成形用フラップによる予備成形をより容易にする。また、液体食品が下方から上方に逆流しても、その逆流を抑え、液面レベルの急激な上昇を抑えることができる。
すなわち、図8に示すように、チューブ状包装材料1内の液面下であって充填パイプ1外周上にプレシャーフランジ36を設ける。プレシャーフランジ36は、シールジョー及び対向ジョーにより急速に挟持され、また、一対の成形フラップにより急速に挟まれ液体食品が下方から上方に逆流しても、その逆流を抑え、液面レベルの急激な上昇を抑えることができる。
この発明の特徴に於いて、成形用フラップの上方であり、液体食品圧力の変動によって液体食品圧力が下降する箇所の上流側で、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を塞ぐ被覆手段を有する。
チューブ内の液体食品圧力の変動によって、プレシャーフランジ近傍で、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力が極めて低い陽圧若しくは陰圧になる恐れがある。
例えば、図5に示すように、横シール装置の上方位置の充填パイプ出口7a近傍において、チューブ状包装材料が矢印cの下方に送られる。図5(A)に示すように、シールジョー10a及び対向ジョー11並びに成形用フラップにより急速に挟持されると、チューブ状包装材料の中身の液体が押出され、チューブ内の液体食品の圧力が急激に上昇して矢印aの方向に逆流しようとする。プレシャーフランジ36はその逆流を抑える。
チューブ内の液体食品の圧力は、プレシャーフランジ36の存在に拘らず、チューブ内の液体食品全体に伝播するので、図5(B)に示すように、チューブ内の液体は、慣性によって、矢印eの方向に更に逆流しようとする。しかし、プレシャーフランジ36の存在によって、フランジ下方から上方への液体移動が妨げられ、フランジ上方で液体量が不足し、不足量dが生じる。不足量dを仮想的に泡として図5(B)に図示する。その結果、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力が極めて低い陽圧若しくは陰圧になる恐れがある。
引く続き、チューブ状包装材料が矢印cの下方に送られ、チューブ状包装材料のプレシャーフランジ36下の容積が増える。その増加分に相当する液体食品が充填パイプ出口7aから供給されないと、プレシャーフランジ36上方の液体から矢印b(図5(C))の方向で供給されるはずであるが、プレシャーフランジ36があるためにその供給が妨げられる。図5(C)に示すように、シールジョー10a及び対向ジョー11により引き下ろされると、チューブ状包装材料のプレシャーフランジ36下の容積が急速に増え、液体食品の供給量が不足し、不足量dが生じる。不足量dを仮想的に泡として図5(C)に図示する。その結果、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力が極めて低い陽圧若しくは陰圧になる恐れがある。
図6は、包装充填装置の一例における、充填されたプレシャーフランジ下方の充填パイプ付近の液体食品の圧力を示す縦軸と、横シール、予備成形及び切断ステップの時間経過を示す横軸との線図である。
シールジョー及び対向ジョー、並びに成形用フラップにより急速に挟持されると、チューブ内の液体食品の圧力が急激に上昇する。これがピークe、fである。チューブ状包装材料が引き下ろされるとプレシャーフランジ下の容積が急速に増え、液体食品の供給量が不足し、チューブ内の液体食品の圧力が陰圧になる。これが谷gである。
上記の例においては、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力が上記谷gで陰圧になる。
この発明の特徴に於いて、被覆手段が設置される位置は、液体食品圧力の変動を起こす原因となっているシールジョー及びカウンタージョー並びに成形用フラップの上方である。それらの下方では影響が無く、シールジョー及びカウンタージョー並びに成形用フラップの位置では、操作上、場所的に邪魔するからである。
また、液体食品圧力の変動によって液体食品圧力が下降する箇所の上流側である。この明細書では、この意味は、変動によって下降する程度が少ない若しくは変動の影響が無くて下降しない場所に被覆手段が設置される。換言すれば、陰圧になっる箇所の上流側であって陽圧箇所に、被覆手段が設置される。
包装充填システムにおいて、上述のように、充填されたチューブ内の液体食品の圧力が極めて低い陽圧若しくは陰圧になる恐れがある。
この発明の特徴において、被覆手段が、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を塞ぐので、この箇所から外部雰囲気物質、何らか(汚染物質)が侵入してチューブ内の液体食品を汚染することがなく、中身食品の衛生状態を維持することができる。
この発明の好ましい態様において、被覆手段が、フイルムを貼着して塞ぐフィルム貼着手段である。
この態様において、フィルム貼着手段が、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙をフイルムで、若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位をフイルムで塞ぐ。この箇所から外部雰囲気物質、何らかの汚染物質が侵入してチューブ内の液体食品を汚染することがなく、中身食品の衛生状態を維持する。
この発明の好ましい態様において、接着剤を塗布して塞ぐ接着剤塗布手段である。
この態様において、接着剤塗布手段が、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙を接着剤で、若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を接着剤で塞ぐ。この箇所から外部雰囲気物質、何らかの汚染物質が侵入してチューブ内の液体食品を汚染することがなく、中身食品の衛生状態を維持する。
この態様で、接着剤の塗布とは、ローラ、ノズル、吹付け具、ジェット噴射具などにより液状、粘状、膜状、フィルム状の接着剤で所定箇所を塞ぐことである。
この発明の好ましい態様において、被覆手段が、チューブ状包装材料内に液体食品を無菌雰囲気で充填することを保証する無菌室の外側に設置される。
無菌室内は、衛生上、装置デザイン上、機能上、また操作上、設置に困難性がある。被覆手段を無菌室の外側に設置することによって、衛生上、装置設計上、機能上、また運転操作上、容易に便利になる。
上述のように、本発明の包装充填装置によって、チューブ内の充填液体食品の圧力を陽圧に維持し、成形用フラップによる予備成形を容易にし、液体食品圧力の変動にって液体食品圧力が万が一に陰圧へ下降しても、チューブへ外部雰囲気物質が侵入することを防止することができる。

以下、本発明の実施の形態について図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。
この実施形態による包装充填装置は、図7に示すように、ウェブ状包装材料1をチューブ状に成形し、包装材料の両端部でチューブの縦線方向に縦シールし、垂直に下方に搬送されるチューブ状包装材料内に充填パイプ7から液体食品を無菌室40内で、図8に示すように、充填パイプ出口上方の所定位置の液面レベルまで充填し、図9に示すように、液面下でチューブ横断方向にシールジョー10及びカウンタージョー11でチューブ1を挟んで引き下ろす間に横シールし、チューブを同時に成形用フラップ41、41で挟んで予備成形し、横シール帯域でナイフ42で切断して原型包装容器13を製造する。
この発明による第1の実施例の包装充填装置の被覆手段(フィルム貼着手段)の概要を図1に示す。
この実施態様の被覆手段20は、チューブ状包装材料1内に液体食品を無菌雰囲気で充填することを保証する無菌室40直下の外側に設置される。
この設置位置は、シールジョー及びカウンタージョー並びに成形用フラップ(図1に図示せず、図9においてシールジョー10、カウンタージョー11、成形用フラップ41、41)の上方である。
この態様の包装充填装置において、被覆手段20の設置位置の下方(下流)で液体食品圧力が下降して陰圧になり、陰圧になっる箇所の上流側の陽圧の箇所に、被覆手段20が設置される。
この実施例の被覆手段、すなわちフィルム貼着手段20は、粘着フィルム片21と、粘着フィルム片21を載せて搬送する剥離フイルム22とからなるテープ24のリール23と、リール23から繰り出されたテープ24を案内するガイド25aと、粘着フィルム片21から剥離フイルム22を剥離する剥離ロール25bと、粘着フィルム片21を縦シールの継ぎ目に生じた間隙に押付ける押しロール26と、剥離フイルム22を回収する回収ロール27と、縦シールの継ぎ目を検知するセンサ28と、粘着フィルム片21から剥離フイルム22を剥離して粘着フィルム片21を継ぎ目の間隙に押付けるタイミングを制御する制御手段29とからなる。
フィルム貼着手段20では、粘着フィルム片21と、粘着フィルム片21を載せて搬送する剥離フイルム22とからなるテープ24を備える。粘着フィルム片21は粘着層と基材とからなる。テープ24では、粘着層が剥離フィルムに一時的に粘着する。
リール23からテープ24が繰り出され、ガイド25aがこのテープ24を案内する。剥離ロール25bで、テープ24は、粘着フィルム片21から剥離フイルム22を剥離する。剥離フイルム22が剥離ロール25bで180度方向転換するために、剛直な粘着フィルム片21が直進し、曲がる剥離フイルム22から剥離する。
直進する粘着フィルム片21がチューブ状包装材料1の外表面に到達し縦シールの継ぎ目に付着する。付着した粘着フィルム片21が、押しロール26によって縦シールの継ぎ目に生じた間隙に押付けられる。その結果、粘着フィルム片21によって、間隙が塞がれる。
剥離フイルム22が剥離ロール25bで180度方向転換し、剥離フイルム22を回収ロール27によって回収する。
この態様において、縦シールの継ぎ目を検知するセンサ28を有する。センサ28からの信号によって、制御手段29が、粘着フィルム片21から剥離フイルム22を剥離して粘着フィルム片21を継ぎ目の間隙に押付けるタイミングを決定する。
図2は、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙を説明する断面図である。
連続的に包装充填する場合、帯状包装積層材料が無限の長さを持たないので、次の別の帯状包装積層材料を継ぐ必要がある。図2(a)は、帯状包装積層材料1a、1bの継ぎ目1cの縦断面を示す。継ぎ目1cで重ね合わせられる。
図3は、縦シールの継ぎ目に生じた間隙を実施例のフィルム貼着手段によってフィルムで塞いだ状態を示す外観図である。
この態様において、ウェブ状包装材料1をチューブ状に成形し、包装材料の両端部で重ね合わされたチューブの縦線方向に縦シールして縦シール帯域1dが形成される。
図2(b)は、帯状包装積層材料1a、1bの継ぎ目1cであって、縦シール帯域1dの縦断面を示す。
両端部が重ね合わされるために、内側と外側の帯状包装積層材料1a、1bの継ぎ目1cが重なる。図2(b)に図示されるように、継ぎ目1cに間隙1eが形成される。この間隙1eを介して、チューブ状包装材料1の内部と包装材料外部とが連通する恐れがある。
図3に示すように、実施例のフィルム貼着手段20によって粘着フィルム片21で縦シール1dの継ぎ目1cに生じた間隙1eを塞ぐ。
フィルム貼着手段が、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙をフイルムで、若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位をフイルムで塞ぐので、この箇所から外部雰囲気物質、何らかの汚染物質が侵入してチューブ内の液体食品を汚染することがなく、中身食品の衛生状態を維持する。
図4に、接着剤塗布手段によって接着剤で塞いだ外観状態を示す。
図4に示すように、実施例の接着剤塗布手段(図示せず)によって接着剤塊21aで、チューブ状包装積層材料1a、1bの縦シール1dの継ぎ目1cに生じた間隙1eを塞ぐ。
フィルム貼着手段が、縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙をフイルムで、若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を接着剤塊21aで塞ぐので、この箇所から外部雰囲気物質、何らかの汚染物質が侵入してチューブ内の液体食品を汚染することがなく、中身食品の衛生状態を維持する。
液状、粘状、膜状、フィルム状の接着剤は、ローラ、ノズル、吹付け具、ジェット噴射具などにより所定箇所を塞ぐ。
なお、本発明は前記実施の形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の趣旨に基づいて種々変形させることが可能であり、それらを本発明の範囲から排除するものではない。
この発明の包装充填装置によって、牛乳、ジュース、ミネラルウォーターなどの飲料、流動食品などの包装容器を製造することができる。

Claims (4)

  1. ウェブ状包装材料をチューブ状に成形し、該包装材料の両端部で重ね合わされたチューブの縦線方向に縦シールし、垂直に下方に連続的に搬送されるチューブ状包装材料内に充填パイプから液体食品を、該充填パイプ出口上方の所定位置の液面レベルまで充填し、該液面下で該チューブ横断方向にシールジョー及びカウンタージョーで該チューブを挟んで引き下ろす間に横シールし、該チューブを同時に成形用フラップで挟んで予備成形し、該横シール帯域で切断して包装容器を製造する包装充填装置であって、
    チューブ状包装材料内の該液面下であって該充填パイプ外周上に設けられた、プレシャーフランジを有し、該プレシャーフランジが、充填された該チューブ内の液体食品が下方から上方に自由に流動することを抑制して、該プレシャーフランジ下方の該チューブ内の液体食品の圧力を陽圧にし、該成形用フラップによる予備成形を容易にし、
    該シールジョー及び該カウンタージョー並びに該成形用フラップの上方であり、該液体食品圧力の変動によって該液体食品圧力が下降する箇所の上流側で、該縦シール帯域であって継ぎ目に生じた間隙若しくは間隙が生じる恐れがある部位を塞ぐ被覆手段を有し、該被覆手段が、該液体食品圧力の変動による該液体食品圧力の陰圧への下降によって、該チューブへの外部雰囲気物質の侵入を防止する、
     ことを特徴とする包装充填装置。
  2. 該被覆手段が、フイルムを貼着して塞ぐフィルム貼着手段である、請求項1記載の包装充填装置。
  3. 該被覆手段が、接着剤を塗布して塞ぐ接着剤塗布手段である、請求項1記載の包装充填装置。
  4. 該被覆手段が、チューブ状包装材料内に液体食品を無菌雰囲気で充填することを保証する無菌室の外側に設置される、請求項1記載の包装充填装置。
