Abstract

A car (3) is equipped with an external air bag (6) width the car side. The bag (6) is fixed in a box emerged in the motor hood (4) just to the front window glass. The bag (6) inflated through a horizontal door above its box if a heavy impact like camel (1 ) hit the car (3). This inflation covers all the front glass and all the longitudinal cabinet. The inflated bag (6) absorbed the impact force due the hit and distributed it's magnitude on the area of the bag. Before the object (camel as example) (1) reach the driver and the passenger. The bag (6) prevents the object (1) to enter the cabinet or fall on the cabinet and save the passengers and the driver lives. In very heavy impact the object (1 ) will pass all the way to the back of the car (3) by the bag (6) and dropped beyond the cabinet (2).

Description

A CAR EQUIPPED WITH EXTERNAL AIR BAG
Technical Field:
The invention relates to an air bag [4/1] Background Art:
Most of multi-purposes recent cars or vehicles (autobus, lorry, pick-up truck, van) are equipped internally with front or front and side air bags to provide a protection for a passenger/ passengers during the impact moments where the bag inflates inside the car to surround the passenger/ passengers and absorb the impact force and that occurs only in horizontal impacts which is a force that cause the death in most of impact accidents of medium and high velocities.
[4/2] PROBLEM OR DEFECT IN PRIOR ART:
In impact accidents with camels on highways especially the Gulf States, cars which is equipped with internally fixed air bags do not protect the driver or the passenger from death due to impact with camels on highways, because of:
1 - The gravity centre of camel is higher than that of the car.
2- The mean weight of camel is about 1.8 tonnes.
So, as a result of the impact, the camel will fall from above downwards on the driving cabinet over the head of a passenger/ passengers causing their death.
Due to an impact with a camel of mean weight (1.5- 2.5 tonnes), and as the camel gravity centre is higher than car gravity centre, the camel will fall down from the highest foreside of car saloon on the driver or a passenger or the camel pass through the front of the driver into the saloon which leads to injury then death or permanent disablity although the air bags are blown-up in front of or around the driver or the passenger. [4/3] THE NOVELTY OF THE SUBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
4-3-1- Providing the car with an external air bag extending width the car side to side, which is fixed on hood of motor and attached to the front window glass of the car cabinet which blows through horizontal door in front of the window glass of anterior saloon.
4-3-2- On strong impact, the bag will blow up and its respective door will open and will cover the front window glass along the saloon hood before the camel reach foreside of the saloon.
4-3-3- The bag absorbs the impact force of the camel with the front window glass or the saloon hood.
4-3-4- As a result of the camel velocity gained by the impact of camel body, the camel body continues sliding over the bag till it falls behind the car saloon.
[4/4] DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION:-
4-3-1- Providing the car with an external air bag extending width the car side to side, which is fixed on hood of motor and attached to the front window glass of the car cabinet which blows through horizontal door in front of the window glass of anterior saloon.
(4/4) Detailed description:
4-4-1- This bag is attached to the sensor/sensors of impact which are fixed in foreside of a car.
4-4-2- Upon impact, the external air bag inflates along the car width, side to side.
4-4-3- The bag prevents the impact of camel with the foreside of cabinet and make it glides above the cabinet without treading the cabinet and squeezing the passengers.
Illustration of components:
As in a figure number (5), The invention consists of a car (part 2) which is equipped with an air bag (part 6) and fixed inside basin engine between saloon of passengers and basin engine, closed with gateway (part 5).
Illustration for making of bag:
Once the impact occurs between the car and the same sensor of familiar air bag, the air bag blows-up (part 6) and impulses through the gateway (part 5) to cover the window glass of car and saloon hood within 1/25 of second.
Impact force measurement:
If impact force was extremely high (in extremely high velocities) camel will fall on the front of saloon hood.
The bag absorbs this force and distributes it on area equals (width of car x bag length).
So, Neither the head of the driver nor the passenger is injured and camel continue in its impulsion above bag until falling behind saloon. If impact force was high (in high and medium velocities) camel will fall on basin engine in front of saloon of passengers and continue in its sliding towards the front window glass and the bag prevents it from breaking into saloons in front of the head of the driver and the front passenger. Exploitation Method:
This air bag is installed in autobus (sedan), van and pickup.
Required steps for carrying out the invention:
The car is designed by providing basin engine with box along car width which is containing folded bag volume, gas conductions and pressure vessels containing chemicals necessary for producing bag blowing-up gas and also connection of sensor with impact from the front of car.
Brief Description of Drawings:-
1- : Figure number (01) shows the present design in which car is the component number (2) and camel is component number (1).
2- : Figure number (02) shows the begining of impact between element
(1) camel and the front of the car (element 2) and part (3) represents beginning of smashing the front of car.
3- : Figure number (03) shows falling of element (1) camel on the car and smashing the front of car completely element (3) and also destroying the front of saloon and car hood (element 2) and element (4) represents the original dimensions of car before impact and element (3) the dimension after impact.
4- : Figure number (04) shows settlement of part (1) camel inside car cabinet (part number 2) and death of passengers or acute injuries.
5- : Figure number (05) shows camel, element (1), upon impact with car
(2) in the case of installing external air bag (element 6) in basin (element 5) between saloon window glass and basin engine since impact took place and in time 1/25 of sec, the bag (element 6) blown-up and pushed out of basin (element 5) to cover saloon width, the front window glass and car hood (element 2).
6- : Figure number (06) shows sliding of element (1) camel towards car saloon (element 2) but after blowing-up of air bag (element 6) through bag basin (element 5) and line (element 7) represents external dimension of car before impact since line (element 3) represents external car dimension after impact.
7- : Figure number (07) shows arrival of camel body element (1) in the front of the anterior window glass of the car (element 2) and beginning of the saloon hood while presence of air bag prevents destroying the saloon on passengers.
8- : Figure number (08) shows presence of camel (element 1 ) above car hood (element 2) while presence of air bag prevents destroying the saloon on passengers.
9- : Figure number (09) shows arrival of camel element ( 1 ) to the end of saloon hood of the car (element 2) but presence of air bag prevents saloon destroying and death of passengers.
10- : Figure number (10) shows falling of camel (element 1) behind car saloon (element 2) and safety of saloon and passengers.
