Abstract
Description
記録再生装置10は、BD-ROM40の再生機能を有している。ユーザは、BD-ROM40に予め記録されたオリジナル・コンテンツを記録再生装置10により再生して楽しむことができる。
ここで例えば、ユーザが複数の記録再生装置を所有していて、通常使用している記録再生装置10ではなく、他の記録再生装置11でオリジナル・コンテンツを再生しようとした場合、BD-ROM40を他の記録再生装置11に移動させるとともに、追加コンテンツを記録した外部メモリ42も他の記録再生装置11に移動させる必要がある(図11(B))。
つまり、SDカードのような外部メモリ42を用いて追加コンテンツを記録した場合には、ユーザは、オリジナル・コンテンツを記録したBD-ROM40とともに、常にその外部メモリ42もペアにして携行したり移動させたりする必要が生じ、煩雑であるとともに、使い勝手も悪くなる、という問題が生じる。
この場合、図12(A)に示すように、記録再生装置10に対して、オリジナル・コンテンツを記録したBD-ROM40を装着すれば、内蔵ストレージ41の追加コンテンツを使用したオリジナル・コンテンツの再生が可能となる。しかしながら、他の記録再生装置11でオリジナル・コンテンツを再生しようとした場合には、他の記録再生装置11には追加コンテンツがないため、追加コンテンツを用いたオリジナル・コンテンツの再生は行うことができない(図12(B))。
また、BD20は、ディスクに記録された情報を暗号化し、安全に管理することがすでに可能であることと、記録再生装置本体にすでに暗号化する手段が備えられているため、記録再生装置10側に新たな機能を追加する必要がない、などの利点もあげられる。
そして、取得した追加パッケージは、光ディスクドライブ101に挿入されたBD20の記録領域に記録させる。これにより本発明のコンテンツ記録手段が実現される。
例えば図3(A)に示すように、BD20は、記録領域が多層構造により形成され、これら多層の記録層の一部を読取専用のROM領域21とし、残りの一部を書き換え可能な記録領域22とした構成のものを使用することができる。また図示する記録層は3層構成でそのうちの2層をROM領域として使用しているが、4層以上の多層構成のものであってもよい。また、ROM領域21と記録領域22との位置関係は、図3(A)と逆の関係、つまり表層側に記録領域22が配置され、その下側にROM領域21が配置されたものであってもよい。
一方、ディスクがハイブリッド対応でなければ、記録再生装置10では、ダウンロードした追加コンテンツを内蔵ストレージ102、または外部メモリ用スロット103に装着した外部メモリに保存する(ステップS4)。
ここでは、記録再生装置10は、ディスクがハイブリッド対応であるかどうかを判別して、ハイブリッドのディスクであれば、ダウンロードした追加コンテンツをディスクの記録領域22に記録し、ハイブリッドではない場合には、従来技術と同様に内蔵ストレージまたは外部メモリに追加コンテンツを保存させるようにしている。
例えば、インターネット経由等により記録再生装置10に追加コンテンツをダウンロードする場合、予期しない問題等により、追加コンテンツを正常にダウンロードできない可能性もあるため、追加コンテンツを一時的にRAM106や内蔵ストレージ102等の別領域に保存した後、ディスクに保存することがより好適である。
ここでは、記録再生装置10は、ディスクがハイブリッド対応であるかどうかを判別して、ハイブリッドのディスクであれば、ダウンロードした追加コンテンツを一時的にテンポラリエリアに保存した後ディスクの記録領域22に記録し、ハイブリッドではない場合には、従来技術と同様に内蔵ストレージまたは外部メモリに追加コンテンツを保存させるようにしている。
追加コンテンツをディスクからテンポラリエリアに読み出すタイミングとしては、記録再生装置10でディスクの挿入時にそのディスクのチェックを行い、追加コンテンツの有無が判別でき次第、読み出しを行うようにする。そして、テンポラリエリアに一時的に保存した追加コンテンツを使用して、ディスクに記録されているオリジナル・コンテンツの再生処理を実行する(ステップS25)。
なお、テンポラリエリアに読み出した追加コンテンツは、ディスクのイジェクト時など、追加コンテンツが不用になった時点で削除する。
ここでは、ハイブリッドディスクに対応していない記録再生装置において、外部メモリに保存した追加コンテンツを、ハイブリッドディスク対応の記録再生装置でハイブリッドディスクの記録領域22に複写または移動させる。この場合、著作権上、コピー(複写)が許されないコンテンツの場合には移動(ムーブ)処理となり、コピーが許される場合には、複写処理を実行する。ここでは、ユーザが任意に複写処理を指示する場合について説明する。
そして、記録再生装置10では、挿入されたディスクがハイブリッド対応のディスクであるかどうかを判別する(ステップS32)。ディスクがハイブリッドであるか否かを判別する機構は、記録再生装置10に備えられているものとする。
一方、ステップS32でディスクがハイブリッド対応ではない場合、またはステップS34で複写可能な追加コンテンツを検出しなかった場合には、処理を終了する。
図8の例では、図7の例と異なり、ユーザが追加コンテンツの複写の指示を行う前に、記録再生装置10が事前にハイブリッドディスク対応か否かを検出するようにしたものである。
そしてディスクがハイブリッド対応であれば、ユーザは、外部メモリに記録してある追加コンテンツをディスクにコピーするために、ハイブリッドディスク対応の記録再生装置10に上記外部メモリを装着し、追加コンテンツの複写(コピー)を指示する(ステップS42)。
一方、ステップS41でディスクがハイブリッド対応ではない場合、またはステップS44でコピー可能な追加コンテンツを検出しなかった場合には、処理を終了する。
ここでは、ハイブリッドディスクに対応していない記録再生装置において、内蔵ストレージにダウンロードして保存した追加コンテンツを、外部メモリに移動または複写する。この場合、著作権上、複写が許されないコンテンツの場合には移動(ムーブ)処理となり、複写が許される場合には、複写処理を実行する。
そして、記録再生装置10では、内蔵ストレージからコピー可能な追加コンテンツを検出する(ステップS52)。コピー可能な追加コンテンツが検出された場合には、さらに、外部メモリが装着されているかどうかを判別する(ステップS53)。
一方、ステップS52で複写可能な追加コンテンツを検出しなかった場合、もしくはステップS53で外部メモリが装着されていなかった場合には処理を終了する。
Claims (8)
- Blu-rayの拡張機能として規定される仮想パッケージ機能を用いてオリジナル・コンテンツに追加される追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
外部の記憶手段に記憶された前記追加コンテンツを取得する追加コンテンツ取得手段と、
該追加コンテンツ取得手段が取得した追加コンテンツを所定の記録媒体に記録する追加コンテンツ記録手段とを有し、
該追加コンテンツ記録手段は、データの読み取り専用のROM領域及びデータの書き込みが随時可能な記録領域の両方を備えたハイブリッド記録媒体を検出し、該検出したハイブリッド記録媒体の前記記録領域に、前記追加コンテンツ取得手段が取得した前記追加コンテンツを記録することを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - 請求項1に記載の追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
前記追加コンテンツ記録手段は、前記追加コンテンツを前記ハイブリッド記録媒体の前記記録領域に記録する際に、前記ROM領域に記録されているオリジナル・コンテンツに前記追加コンテンツを1対1で対応付けて記録することを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - 請求項1または2に記載の追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
前記追加コンテンツ記録手段は、前記追加コンテンツ取得手段が取得した前記追加コンテンツを、所定の一時記憶手段に一時的に記憶し、該一時記憶手段に記憶した追加コンテンツを前記記録領域に移動させることにより、前記記録領域に対する追加コンテンツの記録を行うことを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - 請求項1~3のいずれか1に記載の追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
該追加コンテンツの管理装置は、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に記録されたオリジナル・コンテンツと追加コンテンツの再生を可能としたコンテンツ再生手段を有し、
該コンテンツ再生手段は、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に前記追加コンテンツが記録されていることを検出した場合、該追加コンテンツを前記記録媒体から読み出して所定の一時記憶手段に一時的に記憶し、該一時記憶手段に記憶した前記追加コンテンツと、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に記録されている前記オリジナル・コンテンツとの再生を行うことを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - 請求項1~4のいずれか1に記載の追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
該追加コンテンツの管理装置に装着された外部メモリに記憶されている追加コンテンツを、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に複写または移動する追加コンテンツ複写/移動手段を有し、
該追加コンテンツ複写/移動手段は、前記複写または移動を指示する指示情報の入力に従って、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体が記録可能に装着されているか否かを検出し、該記録可能なハイブリッド記録媒体を検出した場合には、さらに前記複写または移動が可能な前記追加コンテンツが前記外部メモリ内にあるか否かを検出し、該複写または移動が可能な前記追加コンテンツを前記外部メモリ内に検出した場合には、前記外部メモリに記録された前記追加コンテンツを、前記検出したハイブリッド記録媒体の前記記録領域に対して複写または移動することを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - 請求項1~4のいずれか1に記載の追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
該追加コンテンツの管理装置に装着された外部メモリに記憶されている追加コンテンツを、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に複写または移動する追加コンテンツ複写/移動手段を有し、
該追加コンテンツ複写/移動手段は、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体が記録可能に装着されているか否かを検出し、該ハイブリッド記録媒体が記録可能に装着されているときに、前記複写または移動を指示する指示情報が入力した場合には、さらに前記複写または移動が可能な前記追加コンテンツが前記外部メモリ内にあるか否かを検出し、該複写または移動が可能な前記追加コンテンツを前記外部メモリ内に検出した場合には、前記外部メモリに記録された前記追加コンテンツを、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体の前記記録領域に対して複写または移動することを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - 請求項5または6に記載の追加コンテンツの管理装置において、
前記追加コンテンツ複写/移動手段は、前記追加コンテンツを記録した前記ハイブリッド記録媒体から、前記追加コンテンツを外部メモリに移動または複写できる機能を有し、
前記ハイブリッド記録媒体から外部メモリへの前記追加コンテンツの移動または複写を指示する指示情報が入力した場合、前記管理装置に装着された前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に複写または移動可能な追加コンテンツがあるか否かを検出し、該複写または移動が可能な前記追加コンテンツが前記ハイブリッド記録媒体にあることを検出した場合には、さらに外部メモリが記録可能な状態で装着されているか否かを検出し、前記記録可能な外部メモリを検出した場合には、前記ハイブリッド記録媒体に記録された前記追加コンテンツを、検出した前記記録可能な外部メモリに対して複写または移動することを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理装置。 - Blu-rayの拡張機能として規定される仮想パッケージ機能を用いた追加コンテンツの管理方法において、
外部の記憶手段に記憶された前記追加コンテンツを記録再生装置が取得する追加コンテンツ取得ステップと、
該記録生成装置により該追加コンテンツ取得手段が取得した追加コンテンツを所定の記録媒体に記憶する追加コンテンツ記録ステップとを有し、
該追加コンテンツ記録ステップは、データの読み取り専用のROM領域及びデータの書き込みが随時可能な記録領域の両方を備えたハイブリッド記録媒体を検出し、該検出したハイブリッド記録媒体の前記記録領域に、前記追加コンテンツ取得手段が取得した前記追加コンテンツを記録することを特徴とする追加コンテンツの管理方法。
