Abstract
La présente invention concerne un contrôleur RAID utilisant un procédé d’identification d’un dispositif de stockage d’un réseau redondant de dispositifs de stockage renvoyant les données corrompues au contrôleur RAID. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à lire les données provenant d’un emplacement de chaque dispositif de stockage dans le réseau redondant une première fois et à détecter cette ou ces données corrompues et renvoyées de dispositif de stockage. En réponse à la détection des données corrompues, des étapes sont exécutées pour chaque dispositif de stockage dans le réseau redondant. Les étapes comportent la lecture des données provenant de l’emplacement du dispositif de stockage une seconde fois sans écriture sur l’emplacement entre les première et seconde lectures, la comparaison des données lues les première et seconde fois, et l’identification du dispositif de stockage comme étant défaillant si les données comparées présentent une erreur de comparaison. Enfin, le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à mettre à jour l’emplacement de chaque dispositif de stockage vers un nouvel emplacement et à répéter les étapes pour le nouvel emplacement.
