Abstract

L'invention concerne un matériau d'éponge de magnésium qui est formée en faisant fondre ensemble du magnésium et du sodium dans une atmosphère d'argon inerte afin de former un liquide immiscible. Le liquide est agité pour empêcher la coagulation par agitation à haute vitesse, puis rapidement refroidi. La plus grande partie du sodium est ensuite retirée par lixiviation chimique dans l'éthanol, le résidu alcoxyde étant réutilisé.
