Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de combustion assistée par plasma qui comprend un boîtier diélectrique définissant une chambre à plasma pourvue d'une entrée qui reçoit un matériau à traiter et une sortie qui transmet le matériau traité. Une plaque d'électrode de masse est positionnée à proximité d'une première surface du boîtier diélectrique formant une première barrière diélectrique. Une plaque d'électrode chaude est positionnée à proximité d'une seconde surface du boîtier diélectrique formant une seconde barrière diélectrique. Une alimentation électrique génère une forme d'onde qui alimente la plaque d'électrode chaude avec une tension qui transmet une décharge de plasma des deux barrières diélectriques dans la chambre à plasma. Un injecteur de matériau positionné au niveau d'une entrée de la chambre à plasma convertit un matériau liquide en un matériau aérosolisé et pulvérise ensuite le matériau aérosolisé dans la chambre à plasma. Le plasma dans la chambre à plasma transforme le matériau aérosolisé en au moins plusieurs matériaux à poids moléculaire plus faible et active des radicaux libres.
