Description
DRIVING GEAR FOR ROPE UNWINDING ON FORESTRY
WINDLASSES
Innovation subject is a driver gear for rope unwinding, that will pull the rope from the forestry windlass' drum and lower the effort of rope pulling that the worker is performing from the windlass to the logs. The reeling of the rope of the driving gear has to comply with the speed of forestry worker. It must not work in a violent manner, so that it prevents unintentional rope release in the drum area and in the area of upper sheave of forestry windlass in all phases of forestry windlass working process.
Similar solution is described in DE 202005020694, which discusses forestry windlass with a drum to which rope is coiled, going from the drum over the upper sheave and further to the logs. The rope on upper sheave is being pushed by at least one reel; the sheave itself is pushed directly by the hydraulic engine. The reel push creates the friction force between the rope and contact surface of the sheave, so that the rotating upper sheave pulls the rope from the drum. The pressure onto the rope deforms the rope or impacts badly the structure of knitted wires of the rope and decreases its life span.
To decrease the pressure on the rope, which is especially important for the rope made out of polyethylene or other fibres, the driving gear for rope unwinding on forestry windlasses is, after the invention and with the first
implementation case solved with sheave drive and the drive of at least one push reel. Draught of the rope is performed by the rotating pushed sheave and rotating driven push reels. The interference due to unexpected pulls of the rope is prevented by the driving gear for rope unwinding on forestry windlass, so that the rope between the drum and driving gear for rope unwinding on forestry windlass stays taut.
After the invention and second implementation case, the driving gear for rope unwinding on forestry windlass is solved by the drive of at least two push reels. The draught of the rope is performed by rotating driven push reels. The interference due to unexpected pulls of the rope is prevented by the driving gear for rope unwinding on forestry windlass after the invention and the rope between the drum and driving gear for rope unwinding on forestry windlass stays taut.
The invention will be described with implementation case and Fig., that shows

There is forestry windlass shown on Fig. 1 with housing 2 and rope 4 winded on the drum 3. The rope goes from drum 3 through the driving gear 1 for rope unwinding up to the logs in the H direction. Driving gear 1 for rope unwinding is rotational in housing 2 around the symmetry 6.
Figs. 2 and 3 show the driving gear for rope unwinding - solution of the drive with toothed rings. In housing 7 of the sheave, there are sheave 8 and right next to it toothed ring 9 fixed onto the sheave's shaft 10. In the fulcrum 16, there is a push reel's housing 11 articulated fixed to the housing 7 of the sheave. In the push reel's housing 11 , there are push reel 12 and next to it toothed ring 13 fixed onto the push reel's shaft 14 in a way that the toothed ring 9 of the sheave and toothed ring 13 of the push
reel are in a grip and are in the same planes. So mounted toothed ring 9 of the sheave and toothed ring 13 of the push reel form the drive 19.
Sheave 8 and push reel 12 are in the parallel plane and are in constant contact with rope 4 on symmetric of the centre lines 18 of sheave's shaft 10 and shaft 14 of push reel. The diameters of the dividing cylinder of the toothed rings of sheave 9 and push reel 13 are chosen in a way that the circumference speeds of sheave 8 and push reel 12 are the same. Sheave housing 7 and push reel housing 11 is concluded with a tightening bolt 15 with a spring on a known manner. Fig. 4 shows the driving gear for rope unwinding - the solution of the drive with a chain. The drive 20 is composed of sprocket 22, connected with a chain 21 ; the sprocket is fixed on sheave's shaft 10, sprocket 23 that is fixed on shaft 14 of push reel and tightening sprocket 24.
Sprocket 24 is installed in the housing 11 of the push reel in a way, that the sprockets 22, 24 hold into the chain 21 from the inner side and the sprocket 23 from the outer side.
In this implementation case the chain 21 can be replaced by an adequate belt; and sprockets 22, 23 and 24 by belt pulleys.
The dimension choice must comply with the same circumference speed on the contact surface with the rope 4 at the sheave 8 as at the push reel 12.
Drive engine 17 is fixed onto the shaft 10 of the sheave and onto the housing 7 of the sheave or onto the shaft 14 of the push reel and housing
11 of the push reel (Fig. 3). Drive engine can be an electric motor, connected to power supply of tractor or hydraulic motor in hydraulic circuit of forestry windlass. Both start and stop of drive engine work has to be compliant with the steering system of forestry windlass processing. Regarding the adequate pressure to push reel implementation, it is possible only in a way when shaft 14 of the push reel is articulated in unified housing 7 of the sheave flexibly in the direction of the centre lines 18 of the shaft 10 of the sheave and shaft 14 of push reel with tightening bolt 15 with a spring symmetrical in a known way. There are also other known ways possible.
Drive engine transfers the rotating moment to the chosen shaft. Drive 19, 20 transfer the rotating moment to the rotating sheave 8 and push reel 12. With adequate force of push reel 12, created by the tightening bolt 15 with a spring, the friction force is formed between the rope 4 and contact surface of sheave 8 and rope 4 and between the contact surface of push reel 12, so that the rotating drive sheave 8 and push reel 12 pull the rope 4 from the drum 3. The speed of the draught is adjusted to the speed of forestry worker walking, which depends on the field.
Fig. 5 shows forestry windlass after second implementation case with housing 26 and rope 28 winded on the drum 27; the rope goes from drum 27 through the driving gear 25 for rope unwinding till the logs in H direction. Driving gear 25 for rope unwinding is rotationally secured into the housing 26 around the symmetrical 29.
Fig. s 6 and 7 show the driving gear for rope unwinding - the solution of the drive with driving gear on the push reel shaft.
In the sheave's housing 30 there is sheave 31 rotationally installed on shaft 32. To the housing 30 of the sheave, there is housing 33 of the push reels articulated in the fulcrum 38.In the housing 33 of the push reels there are at least two push reels installed, namely on shaft 36 of the push reel there is push reel 35 fixed and next to it sprocket 44 and on the shaft 40 of the push reel there is push reel 35 fixed and sprocket 45 next to it.
Sprockets 44 and 45 in vertical plane are connected by chain 43 so that together they form drive 41.
With this plane there go sheave 31 and push reels 34 and 35 in vertical plane; they are in constant contact with rope 28.
Housing 30 of the sheave and housing 33 of the push reels is concluded with tightening bolt 37 with spring in a known manner. In this implementation case, the drive engine 39 is installed either to the shaft 36 of the push reel or to the shaft 40 of the push reel.
Fig. 8 shows the driving gear for rope draught - the solution of the drive with driving engine on the sheave's shaft. The drive 42 is formed by sprocket 46, rotationally installed onto the shaft 32 of the sheave and connected with chain 47, sprocket 44 fixed onto the shaft 36 of push reel and sprocket 45, fixed onto the shaft 40 of push reel.
In this implementation case, driving engine 39 is installed to the sprocket 46, which is on the shaft 32 of the sheave and on the housing 30 of the sheave.
In implementation cases, the chain can be replaced by an adequate belt and the sprockets by the belt pulleys.
The driving engine can be electric motor connected to the power supply of the tractor or hydraulic motor in hydraulic circuit of the forestry windlass. The start and stop of driving engine process must be compliant with the steering system of forestry windlass processing. Driving engine transfers the rotating moment to the chosen shaft of the push reel or to the sprocket 46. Drive 41 , 42 transfers the rotating moment to the push reels 34 and 35. With adequate force of push reel 34 and 35, formed by tightening bolt 37 with spring, friction force between rope 28 and contact surface of push reel 34 and 35 and between rope 28 and freely rotating sheave 31 is formed, so that the rotating push reels 34 and 35 pull the rope 28 from the drum 27. The speed of the draught is adjusted to the speed of forestry worker walking, which depends on the field.
