Abstract

 本発明の画像表示装置は、光源15,16から放射された光が、反射ユニット19の楕円ミラー17で反射し、透過型の液晶表示パネル5を透過して焦点に右眼用画像及び左眼用画像を結像する。反射ユニット19は、上下方向に楕円ミラー17のブレード18面同士を積層して構成されているので、画像の左右方向における明暗均一性を向上できる。したがって、左右方向に光を拡散させる必要がないので、クロストークを低下させることがない。また、反射ユニット19は、光源15,16からの光を楕円ミラー17の反射面で反射させるだけなので、光の利用効率を良好にできる。
