Abstract

　本発明の画像表示装置は、光源１５，１６から放射された光が、反射ユニット１９の楕円ミラー１７で反射し、透過型の液晶表示パネル５を透過して焦点に右眼用画像及び左眼用画像を結像する。反射ユニット１９は、上下方向に楕円ミラー１７のブレード１８面同士を積層して構成されているので、画像の左右方向における明暗均一性を向上できる。したがって、左右方向に光を拡散させる必要がないので、クロストークを低下させることがない。また、反射ユニット１９は、光源１５，１６からの光を楕円ミラー１７の反射面で反射させるだけなので、光の利用効率を良好にできる。
