Abstract

A vehicle door lock device has a lift lever (2), an open link (3), an open lever (4), and an active lever (5). When pressed, the lift lever (2) enables a latch mechanism, provided to a door, to release a to-be-latched member provided to a vehicle body. The open link (3) makes contact with and presses the lift lever (2). The open lever (4) is activated by operation of a handle provided to the door and drives the open link (3) to cause the open link (3) to press the lift lever (2). The active lever (5) drives the open link (3) to a position at which the open link (3) cannot drive and press the lift lever (2). A one-way drive hole (6) of the active lever (5) drives the open link (3) only in the direction of the position at which the lift lever (2) cannot be driven, and the one-way drive hole (6) does not drive the open link (3) in the direction opposite the direction above.
