　被覆部を確実に除去することで光ファイバの正確な切断を行うことができる光ファイバ切断機および光ファイバの接続処理方法を提供する。 　被覆部内にガラスファイバを内装した光ファイバ７０を切断する光ファイバ切断機１０であって、光ファイバ７０を把持するクランプ１５，１６と、光ファイバ７０の切断部７１が載置される枕部材１７，１８と、枕部材１７，１８に載置された光ファイバ７０の被覆部を加傷する被覆部加傷機構１９と、枕部材１７，１８に載置された光ファイバ７０のガラスファイバに初期傷を付与する初期傷加傷機構４１と、を備えている。
