Abstract

Die erfindungsgemäße Umreifungsmaschine (10) für Packstücke (11) hat mindestens eine die Packstücke mit einem Umreifungsband umschlingende Umreifungsstation und mindestens eine Applizierstation (24) für Kantenschutzelemente (16), die zum Schutz der Packstückkanten im Bereich des das Packstück umschlingenden Umreifungsbands zwischen dieses und das Packstück applizierbar sind. Um die Packstücke individuell mit einer Beschriftung versehen zu können, ist eine der Applizierstationen (24) zugeordnete Beschriftungseinrichtung (26) zur Beschriftung der Kantenschutzelemente (16) vorgesehen, mit der die einzeln aus einem Speicher entnommenen Kantenschutzelemente individuell bedruckt oder beklebt werden können, bevor sie am Packstück angelegt und von Umreifungsband umschlungen werden.
