Abstract
L'invention concerne un palier avant (21) utilisé comme palier d'alternateur, qui présente une bague interne (22) ayant des rainures circonférentielles (22b) à des extrémités axialement opposées de la surface de diamètre externe de la bague interne, une bague externe (23) ayant des rainures circonférentielles (23b) à des extrémités axialement opposées de la surface de diamètre interne de la bague externe, des corps de roulement (24) agencés entre la bague interne (22) et la bague externe (23), et des joints d'étanchéité en forme de bague circulaire (26) utilisés comme éléments d'étanchéité pour sceller de façon étanche l'intervalle entre les bagues interne et externe (22, 23). Les joints d'étanchéité (26) ont chacun une section fixe (26c) disposée sur la périphérie externe du joint d'étanchéité et fixée à la bague externe (23), une lèvre de contact (26e) disposée sur la périphérie interne du joint d'étanchéité et venant en contact avec une paroi latérale d'une rainure circonférentielle (22b), et une saillie (26h) se projetant à partir d'une surface de paroi du joint d'étanchéité (26), laquelle surface de paroi est tournée axialement vers l'intérieur du palier, en direction de la paroi latérale de la rainure circonférentielle (22b). L'efficacité de l'étanchéité du palier d'alternateur, qui porte l'arbre tournant d'un alternateur, n'est pas dégradée par des facteurs externes tels que des différences de température et de pression.
