Abstract

[PROBLEMS] To provide a sampling system for a ballast water for a ship, which does not require the provision of a large storage tank, can collect a ballast water in an easy and continuous manner, and can sample aquatic organisms contained in the ballast water alive, and a method for sampling a ballast water. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A sampling system for a ballast water for a ship, comprising a sampling nozzle for continuously collecting a part of a ballast water and a sampling device (143) for concentrating aquatic organisms contained in the collected ballast water. The sampling device (143) comprises a water storage vessel (300), a filter cloth (303) for dividing the interior of the water storage vessel (300) into two spaces, a supply port (308b) for supplying the ballast water collected through the sampling nozzle into the inner side of the filter cloth (303), a water discharge port (313) for discharging water stored in the water storage vessel (300) from the outer side of the filter cloth (303), a reservoiring part (304) for reservoiring the auatic organism-containing water, which stays on the inner side of the filter cloth (303) upon the discharge of the stored water, and a receiving vessel (307) for receiving water reservoired in the reservoiring part (304).
