Abstract

 ロータとアーマチュアのそれぞれに、軸方向に貫通し周方向に円弧状に延びる磁束遮断用のスリットを複数設け、ロータの反アーマチュア側に挿入されたコイルの励磁による磁束を、ロータの非スリット部からアーマチュアの非スリット部へ、アーマチュアの非スリット部からロータの非スリット部へと通過させることにより磁気吸着力を発生させて両摩擦面を圧着し、コイルの消磁により両摩擦面を離反させる電磁クラッチであって、ロータとアーマチュアの少なくとも一方のスリットが、そのスリット幅が反摩擦面側よりも摩擦面側の方が小さくなるようにテーパ状に変化する形状に形成されている。大幅なコスト増加を招くことなく、摩擦面同士の圧着力を高めて、従来構造と同じサイズでもより大きなトルク伝達が可能になる。
