Abstract

 強誘電体の表面に接触若しくは近接して配置されるべき少なくとも1つのプローブと、強誘電体に電界信号を供給し強誘電体内部におけるプローブ直下のキャパシタ成分に交番電界を印加する電界印加手段と、を含み、交番電界印加に伴うキャパシタ成分の静電容量変化に基づいてプローブ直下における強誘電体の分極方向を検出する強誘電体材料の分極方向検出装置であり、プローブを介して供給される測定信号から交番電界印加に伴う静電容量変化に応じた信号レベルを有する検出信号を生成する復調手段と、検出信号を同期信号に基づいて同期検波し、強誘電体の分極方向に対応した分極方向検出信号を生成する同期検波手段と、電界信号の周波数と同一の周波数であり且つ位相および振幅が異なる擬似ノイズ信号を生成する擬似ノイズ信号生成手段と、を含み、復調手段は、測定信号に含まれるノイズ成分を擬似ノイズ信号との信号演算処理によって除去するノイズ成分除去手段を含む。
