Definitions
- the present invention refers to an industrial safety method and device, which using RFID technology is intended to prevent accidents automatically in dangerous situations in which conventionally not It was possible to act, or there were only manual action options to avoid the accident.
- the invention is based on the placement of labels with legible codes in the operators of the machinery, in the detection of the location of those labels and in the automatic emergency stop on occasions when the location of the labels is considered It involves dangerous situations.
- Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is known, which is an emerging technology that is assuming a revolution in a wide variety of applications with good results both in its costs and in its flexibility of application. Basically, this technology consists in the ability to remotely read certain information stored in a device known as a tag (also called a tag or transponder), so that the information in those tags can be captured by a specific reader through one or more antennas connected to him.
- RFID Radio frequency identification
- the invention consists of an industrial safety method and device that are applicable in machinery industries that present dangerous situations for their operators.
- the method thereof includes: - placing labels with radiofrequency readable codes in these operators; detection by radio frequency identification technology (RFID) of the spatial location of these labels by means of antennas / s at all time of operation of those machinery; and automatic emergency stop, or adequate defined action, of said machinery on the occasions when it is considered that this spatial location of the labels entails danger to one or more of those operators.
- RFID radio frequency identification technology
- the device corresponding to said method has at least one RFID reader provided with at least one control module and one radiofrequency module, and connected with at least one antenna through an optional tuning block.
- Said reader is connected to a control circuit based on a microcontroller that has inputs in which at least one is included for a reset button, and outputs including at least one for a stop circuit of emergency of the machinery of the corresponding industry; provided in the operators of said machinery, through integration elements such as wristbands or rings, codes with codes (called tag or transponder) whose spatial location is detected by the reader so that the control circuit orders the emergency stop, or action adequate, in situations of danger for operators.
- the method and device of the invention has relative advantages in that it uses the discrimination capability provided by RFID technology, making it possible to discern whether an object that is within a risk zone is a work piece or a part of the operator's body, which in the latter case could pose a dangerous situation for said operator.
- the said operator can properly have a set of labels or transponders attached, integrated as appropriate in clothing, wristbands, rings, gloves, etc. Detecting those tags "the reader device allows the realization of the most appropriate action to avoid a possible accident.
- Figure 1 Schematically represents a functional block diagram of an industrial safety device made according to the present invention and using the method thereof.
- the device of Figure 1 employs a method that is applicable in industries with machines that present dangerous situations for their operators 8, presenting the following three basic conditions:
- RFID radio frequency identification technology
- the device corresponding to this method has an RFID reader, 3, which includes at least one control module 1 and a radio frequency module 2, as shown in Figure 1. .
- the said reader 3 is connected to at least one antenna 5 that is responsible for covering a detection area in which the labels or transponders can be detected, while the reader 3 is responsible for detecting the codes of the labels 6 given by their spatial location.
- a tuning block 4 consisting of a capacitor board that is sometimes required for optimal device performance can be interleaved.
- the reader 3 connects with a microcontroller-based control circuit 9, which has functions such as configuring the reading mode of the reader 3, handling the codes captured by the antenna 5 and acting on an emergency stop circuit 13 through one of its outputs 11.
- this control circuit 9 includes at least one of its inputs 10 a reset button 12 that allows the operator or operators 8 to restart the machinery in the event that it has acted the automatic emergency stop provided by the aforementioned emergency stop circuit 13.
- the aforementioned labels 6, known as a tag or transponder are available, whose sizes and shapes can be very different as appropriate, adapting to the operators 8 by Integration elements 7 such as wristbands, rings, gloves or others.
- the reader 3 can detect the presence of labels 6 in risk areas, informing the control circuit 9 to act on the emergency stop circuit 13, avoiding possible accidents.
- a hydraulic press can be considered operating automatically and performing a cyclic pressing movement.
- the pressing area as a risk area, it can be covered with a rectangular antenna coupled to the machine in the form of a frame, and whose reading pattern encompasses the entire danger zone. This antenna is You will find connected to the corresponding RFID reader.
- the operation of this reader is controlled by the microcontroller-based control circuit that connects to the machine's emergency stop circuit, so that when said circuit acts, the hydraulic press returns to a safe position. If deemed necessary, the tuning block is connected between the reader and the antenna.
- the labels will be integrated into the operator by means of wrist straps.
- the mechanism by which the system will perform the emergency stop will consist of the detection of at least one of the labels, which will happen when the operator approaches one of the hands to the risk zone and the machine is running.
- a safety action will consist of making the hydraulic press return to a safety position.
- an input of the control circuit will have a button accessible to the operator that facilitates the rearmament of the device in case it has acted, so that the machine, that is, in this case the hydraulic press, can continue with its cyclic task , the corresponding stopping occurs again if the presence of one of the labels in the danger zone is detected again.
