Abstract

The method includes: fitting of labels (6) to operatives (8); detection by means of radiofrequency of the location of these labels (6) during the operating times of dangerous machinery; and automatic shutdown of said machinery in situations considered dangerous depending on the location of the labels (6). The device has at least one reader (RFID) (3) connected to one or more antennae (5) and to a control circuit (9) which acts on a circuit for emergency shutdown of machinery (13) when labels (6) are detected in areas of danger for the operatives (8).

Description

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INDUSTRIAL SAFETY PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION

The present invention, as expressed in the title of this specification, relates to a method and device industrial safety, that using RFID technology is intended to prevent accidents automatically in dangerous situations where conventionally no it was possible to act, or options existed only manual action to prevent the accident. For this, the invention is based on the placement of labels readable codes on operators of machinery, in detecting the location of those labels and automatic emergency stop on the occasions it is considered that the location of the tags involves dangerous situations.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

It is known identification technology (RFID, Radio Frequency Identification), which is an emerging technology that is assuming a revolution in a variety of applications with good results in both its costs and its application flexibility. Basically, this technology is the ability to read remotely certain information stored in a device known as a tag (also called tag or transponder), so that the information of these labels can be captured by a particular reader through one or more antennas connected to it.

Moreover, it is known the risk of accidents in certain industrial machinery. A variety of cases where the operators need to manage parts that either protrude from the operating area, or require precise positioning in the corresponding machine, such as in metal casting, cutting wood, jewelry applications and others; these not being feasible the use of photocells or other safety devices cases, since the corresponding work area is constantly cut by the piece being worked. In these cases, known systems and manual safety such currently used as a lever storey for the operator to act on it by performing an emergency stop when he noticed a dangerous situation, which has drawbacks relating to that many situations attention and responsiveness of the operator are not as high as would be required to avoid the accident.

We do not know in the current state of the art methods or devices as those of the present invention are based on label placement on operators, detecting radio frequency of their locations and automatic emergency stop occasionally dangerous.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

To achieve the objectives and avoid the inconveniences indicated in previous sections, the invention consists of a method and device are applicable industrial safety in machinery industries presenting a hazard for their operators.

Innovatively, according to the invention, the method of the same inc1udes: - placement of labels with RF readable codes on those operators; detection by the spatial location of these labels using antennas / s radio frequency identification technology (RFID, Radio Frequency Identification) at all times of operation of such machinery; and automatic emergency shutdown, or adequate action defined, such machinery in times when it is considered that the spatial location of the labels cause danger to one or more of those operators.

The device for the said method comprises at least one RFID reader provided with at least one control module and a radio frequency module, and connected to at least one antenna via an optional block tuning. Said reader is connected to a control circuit based on a microcontroller that has some entries in which at least includes one for reset button, and outlets including at least include one for stop circuit emergency relevant industry machinery; providing in the operators of such equipment, by integration elements such as wristbands or rings, a code labels (called tag or transponder) whose spatial location is detected by the reader to the control circuit orders the emergency stop, or action appropriate, in situations of danger for operators.

With the structure described, the method and device of the invention has advantages on using the discrimination capacity providing RFID, disentangling whether an object is within a hazard area is a workpiece or part of the operator, which in this case could pose a hazard to said operator body. Thus, that operator can be properly engaged a set of tags or transponders, integrated as appropriate in clothing, wrist bands, rings, gloves, etc. Detecting those tags "the reader device allows the realization of the most appropriate action to avoid a possible accident.

Next, to facilitate a better understanding of this specification and forming an integral part thereof, a single figure in which illustrative and nonlimiting character represent the object of the invention is attached.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURE

Figure 1 schematically represents a functional block diagram of an industrial safety device embodying the present invention and employing the same method.

DESCRIPTION OF AN EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

A description of an example of the invention with reference to the numbering used in figure is performed.

Thus, the device of Figure 1 employs a method that is applicable in industries with machines having dangerous situations for their operators 8, presenting the following three conditions:

To said reader 3 is connected at least one antenna 5 that is responsible for covering a detection area in which detectable tags or transponders, while the reader 3 is responsible for detecting the codes of the labels 6 dice its spatial location.

Optionally, between the antenna 5 and the reader 3, and depending on the needs of the corresponding radio environment, you can insert a tuning block 4 consisting of a plate capacitor which is sometimes required for optimal device performance.

Moreover, the reader 3 connected to a control circuit 9 based on a microcontroller, which has functions such as setting the read mode the reader 3, handle codes captured by the antenna 5 and acting on a circuit Emergency Stop 13 through one of its outputs 11. As more specific case, but without limitation, it can be considered a hydraulic press operating automatically and performing a cyclic movement of pressing. In this case, and assuming as risk area pressing area, it can be covered with a rectangular antenna coupled to the machine frame-shaped and whose scan pattern that encompasses all danger zone. Said antenna will be connected to corresponding RFID reader. In turn, the operation of this reader is controlled by the control circuit based on a microcontroller and connected to the circuit emergency stop of the machine, so to actuate said circuit hydraulic press to return to a safety position. If deemed necessary, it is connected between the reader and the antenna tuning block.

Assuming that in this case are more operator's hands parts susceptible to some risk, such as an entrapment, a cut, etc., they label the operator is integrated with a wrist.
