Abstract

 光源基板の裏面に駆動回路素子を搭載した場合でも、発光素子からの熱をシャーシ底面に効果的に伝達することができ、内部に熱がこもらない構造のシャーシ、照明装置および表示装置を提供する。底面(4a)と、底面(4a)の周辺部から略垂直な方向に延在する側壁(4b)とを有し、底面(4a)と側壁(4b)とによって形成される空間の内部に、一方の主面上に発光素子(9)が、他方の主面上に発光素子(9)を駆動する駆動回路素子(10)が、それぞれ搭載された光源基板(5)が配置されるシャーシ(4)であって、光源基板(5)の他方の主面のうち、発光素子(9)が搭載された位置の裏面に相当する部分が当接される熱伝導部(4d)と、光源基板(5)の他方の主面のうち、駆動回路素子(10)が搭載された部分が位置するように設けられた、駆動回路素子(10)の当接を回避する回避構造(4c)とを、底面(4a)に有している。
