Abstract

 互いに直交する複数のデータ信号線(DL1~DLn)及び複数の走査信号線(GL1~GLm)と、これらの信号線の各交点に位置する画素電極(6)と、対向電極(11)と、を備え、上記複数のデータ信号線(DL1~DLn)は、表示色を構成する原色(RGB)に対応して連続して配されるデータ信号線の組を構成し、該組ごとに、上記原色に対応するデータ信号が一水平期間内に時分割して供給される出力信号線(D1~Dn/3)に接続されており、上記出力信号線(D1~Dn/3)に供給されるデータ信号が変化する液晶表示装置において、上記対向電極(11)に印加される電圧を、少なくともいずれかの一水平走査期間において変化させる。これにより、SSD方式のアクティブマトリクス型液晶表示装置において、RGBの輝度を独立して調整することができる液晶表示装置を提供する。
