Abstract

La présente invention concerne des conjugués moléculaires antimicrobiens pour le traitement et la prévention de maladies infectieuses provoquées par des micro-organismes pathogens chez des humains et des animaux. L'aspect essentiel de ces conjugués consiste en un espaceur spécial reliant au moins un photosensibilisateur à un récepteur (vecteur) de micro-organismes qui à son tour est lié de manière sélective à la surface d'un micro-organisme entraînant la destruction optique lors d'une irradiation. Des espaceurs ayant une structure hydrophile telle que des motifs d'éthylène glycol et des motifs d'éthylène d'extrémité coiffée d'amine carboxyle doivent être utilisés pour lier le vecteur au photosensiblisateur. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, un espaceur comprendrait au moins 3 motifs d'éthylène glycol et aurait une extrémité coiffée d'un groupe carboxyle sur une extrémité et d'un groupe amine à l'autre extrémité. La présente invention fonctionne efficacement pour combattre une infection bactérienne dans des environnements réels associés à des patients où du sang, du sérum et d'autres liquides organiques sont constamment présents et au moins à proximité. Dans des modes de réalisation préférés, des espaceurs de longueur et de structure choisies sont utilisés pour lier le vecteur au photosensiblisateur. On a constaté que ces conjugués sont très efficaces pour combattre une infection bactérienne dans des environnements réels associés à des patients où du sang, du sérum et d'autres liquides organiques sont constamment présents et au moins à proximité. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'utilisation.
