　インスリン分泌誘導剤、インスリン分泌誘導組成物及びその製造方法、膵臓β細胞増加促進剤、膵臓β細胞増加促進組成物及びその製造方法、並びに遺伝子治療用ウイルスベクターを提供する。 　本発明のインスリン分泌誘導剤及び膵臓β細胞増加促進剤は、膜タンパク質Ｔｍ４ｓｆ２０（Ｔｒａｎｓｍｅｍｂｒａｎｅ　４　Ｌ　ｓｉｘ　ｆａｍｉｌｙ　ｍｅｍｂｅｒ　２０）をコードするＤＮＡとして公知のＤＮＡなどによりコードされるアミノ酸配列を有するポリペプチドやそのフラグメントを有効成分とする。
