Abstract
Disclosed is a method for efficiently producing a compound having a polymerizable functional group and a fluorescent functional group by a simple process without using DCC (a dehydration condensation agent). Specifically, 7-(diethylamino)coumarin-3-carboxylic acid 2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl is produced through a step wherein an acid anhydride having a residue obtained by removing a hydroxy group from a 7-(diethylamino)coumarin-3-carboxylic acid is reacted with methacrylic acid 2-hydroxyethyl, or a step wherein an acid halide obtained by substituting a hydroxy group of a 7-(diethylamino)coumarin-3-carboxylic acid with a halogen atom is reacted with methacrylic acid 2-hydroxyethyl.
