Abstract

L'invention porte sur un panneau à cristaux liquides couleur de mode E de système IPS ayant une structure à multiples espaces, le contraste étant amélioré dans la direction oblique. Un premier polariseur (1) est agencé sur le côté de filtre coloré (6) d'une cellule à cristaux liquides (10), et un second polariseur (8) est agencé sur le côté de couche de cristaux liquides (5) de la cellule à cristaux liquides (10). Un film à différence de phase (2) est disposé entre le second polariseur (8) et la cellule à cristaux liquides (10). La cellule à cristaux liquides (10) a un filtre coloré (6) stratifié sur un substrat en verre côté observation (3), et un substrat en verre (7) agencé pour contenir la couche de cristaux liquides (5) entre ceux-ci. La couche de cristaux liquides (5) a la plus petite épaisseur (dB) dans la région touchant un filtre de couleur bleue (6B) et qui augmente de façon progressive vers une épaisseur (dG) dans la région touchant un filtre de couleur verte (6G), et une épaisseur (dR) dans la région touchant un filtre de couleur rouge (6R). En d'autres termes, une structure à multiples espaces dans laquelle l'épaisseur de la couche de cristaux liquides (5) est différente pour chaque couleur du filtre coloré (6) est employée.
