Abstract

 本発明の液晶表示装置(10)は、画素電極(2)が複数個配列された液晶パネルを備えており、各画素電極(2)は、非対称の形状を有しているとともに、その形状が互いに異なる複数種類のもの(すなわち、画素電極Aおよび画素電極B)に分類される。この液晶パネルは、各種類の画素電極(すなわち、画素電極Aおよび画素電極B)が規則的に配置されて構成されているとともに、上記各種類の画素電極がそれぞれ同じ割合で存在している。これにより、液晶パネルの観察者側から見た左右方向に非対称の形状を有している画素電極で構成された液晶表示装置において、各種類の画素電極の配置の仕方を変更することによって、表示品位を改善することを目的とする。
