Abstract

 液晶表示装置は、表示面側に配置される透明の第1基板と、第1基板に対向するように設けられた透明の第2基板と、第1及び第2基板間に設けられた選択反射が黄色であるコレステリック液晶と、第2基板に対向するように設けられた白青表示用反射板と、を備える。白青表示用反射板の散乱光強度の角度依存性は、コレステリック液晶の散乱光強度の角度依存性と同等である。
