Abstract

　文字入力装置１０は、複数の文字が割り当てられたキーを少なくとも１つ有する文字入力部１１と、当該キーに割り当てられた複数の文字を文字入力部１１への入力に応じて所定の順番で遷移させて表示する表示部１２と、文字入力部１１への入力状態が変化した時点で表示されている文字を入力候補文字とし、１つ以上の入力候補文字からなる入力候補文字列に対応する予測変換候補を作成する予測変換候補作成部１５を備える。予測変換候補作成部１５は、入力候補文字列に対応する予測変換候補が存在しない場合には、入力候補文字の所定の順番における前後の文字を用いて予測変換候補を作成する。
