Abstract
The additional drive of folding tracks has a driving shaft (24) which has a driving wheel (18) and serves to run the tracks (10). When the hydraulic cylinder (22) is switched on, it pushes the rear carriage (12) which pushes the wheels carrier (20) which pushes the front carriage (16), thus the tracks touch the ground.
Description
ADDITIONAL VEHICLE DRIVE - FOLDING TRACK INVENTION DESCRIPTION Area concerned
This invention concerns the additional motor vehicle drive and it is used for operating a vehicle in difficult conditions such as: sand, snow, mud and steep hillsides. According to the International Patent Classification (IPC), it has been classified as P20070256A Additional Vehicle Drive - Folding Track.
Technical problem
Skidding and braking present a great problem to all motorists in snow, mud, sand and on ice, especially in countries with hilly and mountainous terrain. I am quite positive that this invention - Additional vehicle drive-folding track - could resolve them.
Technical state
So far the solutions for the above mentioned problem have been tire chains which are fitted on driving wheels and four-wheel drive. None of the mentioned solutions is as good as this additional vehicle drive-folding track would be. Tire chains are fitted subsequently, which is a nuisance to all motorists. The additional drive is switched on from inside a vehicle, there are no traffic jams, and it is much safer for braking. Four-wheel drive makes vehicles slower on dry roads and more fuel is consumed. The contact area of wheels and ground is small and it results in easier skidding and more difficult braking. A vehicle with the additional drive of folding tracks touches the ground with a larger area and manages to move efficiently across difficult terrains such as: snow, ice, mud, sand and steep hillsides. A vehicle stops easier and keeps the direction while braking on such surfaces.
Explaning the invention essence
The primary aim of the invention is preventing the skidding of vehicles with additional drive while motoring on difficult surfaces.
The secondary aim of the invention is making driving and braking in snow, mud, sand and on ice safer.
The next aim of the invention is enabling trucks to move in hardly approachable terrains, as well as the assembling the folding tracks on attached vehicles in order to enable safer braking and keeping desired direction.
An additional aim and advantages of the invention will be partly shown in the following description, and they will be partly found out during the application of the invention.
The invention of additional drive of folding tracks covers easier vehicle running and braking on difficult surfaces. When a vehicle like this comes across the terrains such as snow, ice, mud, sand or steep hills, the motorist lowers the track and continues the safe motoring. The vehicle will brake safely. This additional drive of folding tracks can be built in any motor or attached vehicles on wheels. One or more folding tracks can be built in a vehicle upon axles or between them, and the tracks can be of different sizes.
While a vehicle is running on normal road the track is folded and it is not in operating mode. When the vehicle comes across difficult terrains the driver switches on the additional drive, lowers the tracks to the ground and continues to drive.
The additional drive operates in the following way: the driving shaft starts the drive and the tracks start turning around. Then the hydraulic cylinder moves the rear carriage which pushes a wheel carrier. It pushes the front carriage and lowers the track to the ground in line with the bottom edge of the vehicle wheels.
The folding track is put out of operation in reversed order. Brief description of sketches

Detailed description of at least one of the ways of the invention realization
Here is a detailed description of this invention, which is also shown in the following pictures.
Pictures 1 and 2 show very clearly how this invention should operate. The lowered track is shown in picture 1 and the folded track is shown in picture 2. When a driver needs the additional drive (Picture 2), the driving shaft (24) which is built in the vehicle chassis (26) is started. Picture 6 shows the driving wheel (18), the front carriage (16) and the braking mechanism (36), which are all built in the driving shaft (24). Then the track (10) starts turning. After that the driver lowers the track by the hydraulic cylinder which pushes the rear carriage (12). It pushes the wheels carrier (20) so that it pushes the front carriage (16). Thus the track is lowered to the ground and it moves the vehicle. Picture 3 shows a view from the back side of a vehicle.
The cross-section from the back side of a vehicle (Picture 4) shows how the rear carriage (12) is fixed to the vehicle chassis (26) by the wheel axle (32). It goes through the wheels carrier (20) and through the rear carriage. The wheels (14) and their bearings (38) drawn together on the wheel axle (20) are also shown in picture 4. The wheels fit into the tracks flutings (10). In
picture 4 we can also see the vehicle wheels (30) and the rear carriage (12) which is pushed by the hydraulic cylinder (22) to lower or raise both tracks paralelly.
Picture 7 shows the wheel carrier and the wheels axles (32) which are firmly built into it.
Picture 8 shows the wheel (14) and picture 9 shows the driving wheel (18).
Picture 10 shows the rear carriage (12) and picture 11 shows the front carriage (16).
Application
This invention can be built in all kinds of vehicles and thus, substantial improvements will be gained and the vehicles would manage difficult terrains easier.
It will be obvious to the existing car industries and their experts that certain alternations and changes on the additional drive of folding tracks could be made without leaving the range and spirit of the invention.
Claims
1. The additional drive of folding tracks consists of driving shaft which runs the track. The hydraulic cylinder pushes the rear carriage which pushes the wheel carrier and the front carriage thus lowering the tracks, which move the vehicle, paralelly to the ground.
2. The additional drive according to Demand 1, indicated likewise, for the mentioned rear carriage to be drawn on to the wheel axle at the ends (both upper and lower), and the axle is firmly connected to the vehicle chassis, i.e. to the wheel carrier. When the carriage is pushed by the hydraulic cylinder, the above mentioned parts enable its downwards or upwards movement, thus the additional drive is lowered.
3. The additional drive according to Demand 2, indicated likewise, for the mentioned wheel carrier to carry on the push from the rear carriage to the front one. The wheels carrier stretches all along the track in its lower part. There are more wheel axles firmly attached to it.
4. The additional drive according to Demand 3, indicated likewise, for the mentioned front carriage to be drawn on to the driving shaft at the upper end, and to be drawn on to the wheel axle at the lower end. The front carriage is positioned paralelly to the rear carriage and it keeps the tracks tight in any position by the wheel axle.
5. The additional drive according to Demand 4, indicated likewise, for the mentioned driving wheels (there are more pairs of those wheels) to lay in the flutings on the track enabling the track to move. Bearings are built in the wheels and they are drawn on the wheel axle together.
6. The additional drive according to Demand 5, indicated likewise, for the mentioned driving wheels which are built in on the driving shaft in pairs, to have teeth that fit in flutings in the track and make it move.
