Definitions
- the present invention relates to an iliac screw system, and more particularly, to an iliac screw system having improvement in the degree of freedom by facilitating coupling with a rod for liking spinal screws, without accurate alignment between the iliac screw system and the rod.
- scoliosis is a disease causing vertebrae to be twisted and bent. If scoliosis is left as it is, a deformation of the vertebrae is advanced continuously, and severe deformity is ultimately caused by scoliosis. Due to the deformity, a complication such as a deformation of viscera and the like are caused, which makes it difficult to live daily life conveniently. This scoliosis can be completely recovered by mounting an assist device or performing a surgical operation according to a bent angle of the vertebrae.
- the patient will live semi-permanently in a state where the spinal screw is implanted into the vertebrae.
- the spinal screw implanted into a human body can be deformed or loosened by physical activities for a long time, so that the spinal screw may be separated and it is difficult to precisely correct the spine using the rod only supported to the spinal screw.
- an auxiliary device for linking one end of the rod to an ilium i.e., a flat bone located at both ends of a sacral vertebra and at a rear of an ischium and having an unfolded fan shape.
- an ilium i.e., a flat bone located at both ends of a sacral vertebra and at a rear of an ischium and having an unfolded fan shape.
- the " ⁇ " shaped auxiliary device is integrally formed, a location of the auxiliary device cannot be changed once the auxiliary device is fixed to an ilium, so that there is a problem in that it is difficult to easily couple the rod to the auxiliary device unless the auxiliary device is precisely aligned with the rod.
- An object of the present invention is to provide an iliac screw system in which a screw to be fixedly inserted in an ilium and a fixing unit for fixing a rod linking spinal screws are linked to each other through a linking member to allow an angle between the screw and the fixing unit to be adjusted, thereby making it easy to couple the iliac screw system and the rod.
- an iliac screw system comprises a fixing unit having a rod-insertion hole formed at one side of a body of the fixing unit to receive a rod for linking a plurality of spinal screws in the rod-insertion hole, and a bar-shaped fixing shaft formed at the other side of the body thereof; a fixing bolt having a fixing shaft-insertion hole formed at one side of a body of the fixing bolt to receive the fixing shaft penetrating therethrough, a fixing recess opened at one side in a perpendicular direction with respect to the fixing shaft-insertion hole, and a threaded portion formed at the other side of the body thereof; a screw having a bolt- insertion hole formed at one side of a body of the screw to receive the threaded portion of the fixing bolt penetrating therethrough, and a threaded portion formed at the other side of the body thereof to be inserted into an ilium; a fixing nut to be fastened to the threaded portion of the fixing bolt

- a rod for linking spinal screws inserted into a spinal pedicle to each other for fixing a rod for linking spinal screws inserted into a spinal pedicle to each other; a screw 300 to be inserted into an ilium; a fixing bolt 200 for linking the fixing unit 100 and the screw 300 to each other; a fixing disc 210 for positioning the rod in the fixing unit 100; and a fixing nut 400 coupled to the fixing bolt 200 to fix the fixing unit 100 and the screw 300.
- a rod- insertion hole 102 is formed in one side of a body of the fixing unit 100 to fix the rod, and a bar-shaped fixing shaft 104 for supporting the rod is formed in the other side of the body thereof.
- the screw 300 has a bolt-insertion hole 302 bored through one side of a body thereof to receive the fixing bolt 200, a plurality of first fixing protrusions 304 are formed along an outer circumference of the bolt-insertion hole 302, and a threaded portion is formed on the other side of the body thereof in the longitudinal direction of the body to be inserted into an ilium.
- the first fixing protrusions 304 are formed on both sides of the bolt- insertion hole 302 to adjust an angle between the screw 300 and the fixing unit 100.
- the fixing bolt 200 has a fixing shaft- insertion hole 202 formed at one side of a body of the fixing bolt to receive the fixing shaft 104 penetrating therethrough, and a fixing recess 204 formed perpendicularly to the fixing shaft-insertion hole 202 for receiving a fixing disc 210 to secure the fixing shaft 104 to the fixing bolt 200.
- a threaded portion 206 is formed on the other side of the body of the fixing bolt 200 so that the threaded portion is inserted into the bolt- insertion hole 302 of the screw 300 to be coupled with the fixing nut 400.
- a second fixing protrusions 208 are formed on a portion, where the fixing bolt 200 is in contact with the first fixing protrusions 304 of the screw 300, to adjust an angle between the fixing bolt 200 and the screw 300 made by engaging the screw 300 with the first fixing protrusions 304.
- the screw 300 can be rotated about the fixing bolt 200 as a rotational axis, it is possible to adjust an angle between the fixing unit 100 and the screw 300.
- the fixing protrusions 208 and 304 are formed on the contact surfaces of the fixing bolt 200 and the screw 300, respectively, so that when the fixing nut 400 is fastened after a desired angle is set, the fixing protrusions 208 and 304 can be engaged with each other to maintain the set angle.
- the fixing disc 210 is rotated and inserted into the fixing recess 204, so that the length and rotational angle of the fixing shaft 104 can be set.
- the iliac screw system according to the present invention has three degrees of freedom, thereby facilitating the coupling with the rod.
- FIG. 3 is a view illustrating a state where the iliac screw system according to the present invention is linked to the spinal screw.
- a plurality of the spinal screws are inserted in the spine and the spinal screws are linked to each other via the rod, and one end of the rod is linked to the iliac screw system inserted in the ilium.
- the screw 300 is inserted into the ilium, and one end of the rod is fixedly inserted into the rod-insertion hole 102 of the fixing unit 100.
- an angle between the fixing shaft 104 and the rod is adjusted using the fixing disc 210, and an angle between the fixing shaft 104 and the screw 300 is adjusted using the fixing nut 400, whereby it is possible to link the rod to the iliac screw system. If the rod and the iliac screw system are linked to each other through such a manner, it is possible to perform the surgical operation without an accurate alignment of the length and angle of the rod, an angle of the iliac screw system and the like.
- a fixing unit to be linked to a rod and a screw inserted into an ilium are linked to each other by a linking member to enhance a degree of freedom. Therefore, there is an advantage in that the iliac screw system can facilitate the coupling with a rod without an accurate alignment and be conveniently installed regardless of various shapes of patient's body, thereby being used valuably for the various surgical operations for the spine.
