Abstract

 ポリオール成分とイソシアネート成分とを含むポリウレタン原料から機械撹拌発泡により得られるポリウレタン発泡体からなる弾性層を有する導電性ローラにおいて、上記弾性層を形成するポリウレタン発泡体が、表面から深さ0.05mmまでの密度が0.75~0.99g/cm3、厚さ方向中央部の厚さ0.05mm範囲の密度が0.2~0.7g/cm3で、かつこれら表面部密度と中央部密度との差が0.25g/cm3以上の発泡体であることを特徴とする導電性ローラを提供する。弾性層を形成するポリウレタン発泡体の密度分布を上記のように調整したことにより、弾性層の表面近傍の密度が高く弾性層表面に現れる気泡の穴が小さく、少ないと共に、厚さ方向中央部の密度が比較的低く良好な柔軟性を有しており、従来弾性層と樹脂塗膜層との間に形成されていた目止め層を省略してこの弾性層上に直接樹脂塗膜層を形成し、製造コストの低減化を図ることができる。
