Abstract

This invention relates to usage of an upside down dashpot (1) in driver and hostess luggage compartments (2) of busses. The use of an upside down dashpot (1) in driver and hostess luggage compartments (2) by application of a pulling force to the cover (3) during the opening of the cover (3) results in the dashpot (1) being shifted to a pressed position. In connection with this, the upside down dashpot (1) shall stay in a released position when the cover (3) is in its main position which is closed, such that the pressure applied to the hinges and the cover (3) is prevented.

Description

DESCRIPTION
UPSIDE DOWN DASHPOT USAGE IN DRIVER AND HOSTESS LUGGAGE
COMPARTMENTS
Field of invention
This invention relates to usage of upside down dashpot in the cover mechanism, in order to provide the cover adjustment remain for a long time and reduce the load on the cover hinge, especially, of the luggage compartments which are made for personal usage of driver and hostess in the busses.
Background of the invention
Dashpots are used for preventing the covers from opening and closing firmly and fast and stabilizing the covers of the luggage compartments those are right over the driver and hostess area; and which are allocated for the usage of driver and hostess, especially in the busses.
The dashpots set a resistance in the opposite direction of motion which is in direct proportion with the velocity. Therefore, they absorb the mechanical energy which creates joggle and vibration.
In the state of art, right-side-up dashpots are used in the luggage compartment covers. The right-side-up dashpots operate with push up principle. While the cover is being opened, the right-side-up dashpot, apply a push up motion; when the cover is open the dashpot is in released position and when it is closed, the dashpot is in pressed position. That is; the dashpot which is in released position when the cover is closed; applies pressure on the cover and so on the hinges, so that the cover is opened. This pressure arising from the working principle of the right-side-up dashpots, together with the load of the belonging in the luggage compartment, cause deformation in the cover and the hinges. This situation causes the vehicle to be brought to the service frequently, just for a simple reason as deformation of the covers .
Detailed description of the invention,
In the system which is the subject of this invention; upside down dashpot (1) is used in order to provide the driver (2) and hostess luggage compartment (2) cover (3) adjustment, stay without deformation for a long time.
Opposite to right-side-up dashpots, upside-down dashpots (1) work according to pulling principle. For this reason, when upside-down dashpot (1) is used in the cover mechanism, pulling force is applied to the cover (3) while the cover (3) is being opened, so; the only weight that affects the cover
(3) is the weight of the load in the luggage compartment. In other words, when the cover (3) is closed the upside down dashpot is released and when the cover (1) is open the dashpot is pressed. Since, the luggage compartment cover (3) is usually in the closed position; released upside down dashpot in the main position does not apply any pressure on the hinges and the cover. This situation provides the cover (3) adjustment stay without deformation for a long time.
With the upside down dashpot (1) usage in the driver ("2) and hostess luggage compartments (2), which is the subject of this invention; the problem of getting the vehicle to the service frequently because of a simple reason as cover (3) adjustment, is eliminated,
