Abstract

　面状照明装置は、光源１と、光を主面部から出射可能に構成された導光板７と、カバープレート１３の横方向の領域に表面弾性波を伝搬させる複数の第１の光偏向領域形成体１０と、カバープレート１３の縦方向の領域に表面弾性波を伝搬させる複数の第２の光偏向領域形成体８とを備え、表面弾性波を伝搬させた横方向の領域と表面弾性波を伝搬させた縦方向の領域との交差領域から照明光１２を出射する。
